inspo: let's fall in love for the night by finneas

adelaide's pov

i sat on the bench. i was at the fair and since i didn't particularly care for any of the rides, i was waiting on my friends to get off the ride they were on. well, first they had to get out of the atrociously long line then they could actually ride the chaos, but that was beside the point.

i really only came here to spend time with my friends zora, cora (they're twins) faye, elsie, hunter, and steven and to play the carnival games. even though carnival games are rigged ninety-nine percent of the time, i was actually really good with them.

i scrolled through instagram. i felt the bench shake a little as a girl slid onto it, smiling at me. she wasn't bad looking at all. she looked to be the same age as me, in her late teens. her hair was a vibrant blue. her gorgeous blue eyes stared into my own, green eyes.

"hi?" i don't know this girl, yet here she is smiling at me like she's known me all her life.

"hey."

"do i know you?" i asked.

she shook her head. "nope, but you looked... for lack of a better word, lonely over here by yourself. thought i should give you some company." she grinned.

"well, for the record, i'm not lonely. i'm just waiting for my friends." i explained.

"where'd they go?"

"on a ride."

"you didn't want to go with them? is it because you're scared?" she smirked, raising an eyebrow.

i chuckled and shook my head. "i'm not scared. i just don't particularly care for rides, see?"

she nodded her head. "oh, i get you."

it was silent for a moment. I turned to her. "what's your name? you know, since you was being rude and didn't introduce yourself when you came over here." i smirked.

she chuckled. "right. i'm billie. and you are?"

"adelaide."

"that's a pretty name. i like it."

"thanks."

it was silent again. i went back to scrolling through instagram for about five minutes. growing bored, I turned my phone off and shoved it into my pocket.

"i'm so bored. there's nothing to even do." i groaned.

"sure there is." she grinned. "let's fall in love for the night and forget in the morning."

i looked at her, trying to figure out if she was joking. but seeing as i only just met her, i couldn't read her like that.

"are you serious?" i questioned.

"as a heart attack."

"why would i want to fall in love with you?" i smirked, teasingly.

"because," she popped her shirt, smirking. "i'm the girl that your girl hoped that you would avoid."

"well, my girl doesn't hope for me to avoid you because my girl doesn't exist." i laughed.

"well even better!"

i sighed. "so, how do you plan on us falling in love for the night?" i gave in.

"glad you asked! i'll woo you all night long."

"is that your only plan?"

"n-no." she stuttered, proving to me that it was in fact her only plan.
