----------------------------------------------I shift on my side, settling in the new spot as I let out a deep exhale. I can feel the sun rays beaming on my face, begging my eyes to open. It also wakens a throbbing headache, making it self more known as I become more conscious. I thought I'd be able to escape a hangover. I wasn't belligerently drunk, but I did have a good share of that german brew.
I decide to give in to the growing throb and open my eyes. I stretch my limbs to wake the rest of my body, slumping back onto the bed. That workout yesterday really wore me out and left my arms and legs sore. As I'm reaching out, my hand comes in contact with something behind me.
Eliza.
I almost forgot I went to bed with her last night. I had forgotten most of last nights events until now and my time of pretending was over. The jig was up as soon as the sun rose and it was time to face the facts.
Being sure not to disturb her, I quietly slip from the duvet and stand on the cool wood floor. Its relatively warm in here for it being so cold outside. That was probably due to me sleeping with a second body; double the heat. I turn to check on Eliza, rubbing my eyes to clear my vision.
Shes gone. Theres only a pillow laying where her body used to be. But when.. How could she just leave without even a word? Maybe she just woke up earlier than I did to get get ready.
I search the bathroom and closet, but shes not there either. I sigh, running a hand through my hair when I see my clothes neatly folded on the chest in front of the bed.
Where has she gone?
Unlocking the door, I check the hall for any sign of life. I race to the stairs, ignoring the pain in my head as I bob down the steps. When I make my way to the main room, theres still no sign of Eliza. Instead, theres a heap of neanderthals on the floor. They must've gotten drunk and passed out here. So much for camping outside..
Since they are still sleeping, I suppose Eliza was able to sneak past them without being noticed. I check the kitchen and bathrooms, the backyard and the media area. I trot back upstairs and start looking in the individual rooms. Door after door, shes no where to be found. I come upon one door in particular and find it locked. Could she be in there?
"Eliza?" I call quietly, knocking on the door. Immediately I here shuffling on the other side. She is here. Patiently waiting, I contemplate what I need to say.
Eliza, I think its best we have some space until you can come clean. Or, Eliza if you really love me, you'll stay here and not go with Gabriel at all. I wont allow it.
I have lost it. I cant forbid her to do something; it isn't my place. Plus, I'm not even her boyfriend, she has no reason to honor my requests. There is, however, the simple fact that I love her and want her with me. I know eventually we'll get through this with time but in order for that to happen, she needs to stay here, and single. I must convince her of this before its too late.
The knob finally twists after an eternity and the door opens to show me.. Rosaria? Damn, I do appreciate her as a friend but I'm seriously getting sick of all these run-ins. For once, just let it be whom I want it to!
"Good morning Lou." She says, forcing a smile. "Um, how are you?"
"Fine. Is Eliza in here?" I ask eagerly. The longer I remain stationary, the more profound my headache becomes. "I need to talk to 'er."
Rosaria's facade falters as her eyes become sympathetic and pitiful, showing her real feelings. She steps forward, quietly shutting the door behind her.
