Chapter 12: Liberty

Justin heard another blare of the alarm. he turned back to see Bernt Marvin and adler forcing the door shut while Varvenchek picked off the monsters getting tok close to the door. "Varvenchek what do i do?" justin yelled as he ran up to the control console. There was a loud slam and the door sealed shut. Marvin grabbed a long metal rod and jammed it into the rail that the door opened on, preventing it from being forced open. 

"okay." Varvenchek said as he approached the control console. He flipped several switches and pressed dozens of buttons. "and here we are." there was a massive blaring of the alarm, it was undoubtedly echoing through the entire facility. There was a shrieking hiss and the left wall of the large room began to move aside. 

An unimaginable joy washed over Justin as he saw the wall slid away to reveal a tall opening leading back into the midnight forest where snow was beginning to fall. However the opening was only about 3 meters wide, plenty of room for monsters to get through after them. "Oh my god." justin said as he began to cry from joy. 

This nightmare, this living hell was finally over. He would never think about this terrible place ever again. They began walking towards the exit, when a wail broke through the door. dozens of pairs of hands were ripping open the door. the monsters began flooding into the room, their yellow spotlight eyes like fireflies in the dark room. 

Justin found himself running to the exit along with the other men. They reached the door and stepped outside of Der Drache. A wave of cold washed over him, causing immense relief of stress. the ground underfoot crunched as he crushed the frost. they got into a large dirt opening which led into the dense forest. They got right up to the tree line then turned to see if they had followed the group, they had.

Several dozen soldiers emerged from the dark rooms, running at top speed towards them. the group felt more confident than ever. They all raised their weapong and a massive chorus of gunfire began. 

The bullets cut down monsters by the dozens. piles of corpses began forming at the opening. There was a pause in the gunfire as the group reloaded. They all reached for another clip of ammo, there was nothing there. The whole group was out of ammo. 

Justin began to panic. the bush was too thick to move in, and they could run the perimeter of the facility again. They all froze as an army began emerging from the opening. The monsters salivated as they closed in on the group, this is the end Justin thought.

Deep in the bush there was suddenly a noise, the sound of engines. Justin turned in time to see a pair of headlights in the forest. There was a smashing of trees and several white coloured trucks emerged into the small opening. 10 Norweigan soldiers jumped off the backm of the truck armed with thompson smgs. Mounted on a small turret on each of the trucks was a dp-28 heavy machine gun.

 The soldiers were clad in winterized gear, quite modern for what the other soldiers wore in battle. White bellaclavas covered their mouth and noses. The one soldier shouted something in norweigen and all the soldiers began a merciless barrage of gunfire at the monsters. in several seconds the entire group that had escaped momentarily had been cut down to a paste.  the ammo from the soldiers machine guns wiped out the entire facilities population in under a minute. JUstin and the rest of the group collapsed to the dirt from exhaustion. 

The lead soldier shouted in norweigen and 4 soldiers ran into the facility. The lead soldier removed his belaclava and kneeled beside marvin and justin. "are you alright?" he said in a perfect voice of english. "ya, i think so." the soldier nodded. "listen, what you have seen today could change the entire war, you will be debriefed by the allied leaders and then released. you will never tell anyone what you have seen in there."

After twenty minutes of being treat for wounds and being fed water, Adler bernt and varvenchek were cuffed and arrested. they were going to be juiced of all useful information and then excecuted probably. Justin then realized that he had been working with 3 nazis for the entire night, he had learned more in one night then he had in his entire life.

Justin looked at varvenchek and he looked back. he nodded to varvenchek. VArvenchek did nothing, and then he smiled his wicked psychotic smile before getting knocked out by the stock of a soldiers rifle. Justin, Marvin, Bernt, Varvenchek, and Adler were all loaded into the back of the trucks and then they drove through the forest. The magnitude of what was now happening finally hit Justin.

It was over.
