All the orange haired man felt was loneliness. It had always been a problem eating away at him for as long as he could remember but now this dark lonely void had consumed him and there was no way out. Hinata felt no sadness anymore, in fact, he felt nothing. His existence felt like an empty shell which had so much potential but somewhere a long the way he made the wrong decisions and ultimately it had led him here: the roof of the office block he had been working at for the last 20 years. One step forwards and his body would tumble to the ground ending his miserable life. He couldn't help wondering what had gone wrong. His high school years had been the best years of his life, the only years of his life he felt happy. The happiest Hinata had ever been was when he was with his teammates playing volleyball with adrenaline pumping through his veins. Yes, he had still felt alone, even with his teammates around him they would often blur into a dizzy haze and seem so faraway from Hinata's reach but he felt joy when he was with them. He especially felt his best whenever he was with Kageyama. Thinking about Kageyama sent his stomach into knots and shot pain through his heart. The orange haired man felt he had failed his friend. On graduating school Hinata had given into his depression and distanced himself from his teammates. He still heard about Kageyama often however, when he was sat at his desk in the stuffy office he hated working in. Kageyama didn't give up after graduation. He succeeded in life and became the setter for the best volleyball team in Japan. He was an idol to many young aspiring volleyball players and the centre of every girls attention. Hinata felt a twinge of jealousy thinking about all the girls Kageyama must get. Not jealous of Kageyama but maybe jealous of... no. Hinata didn't want to think about his feelings or about what could have been. There was no way to turn back the time, but if only there was he knew he'd find a way to have a happy ending. "How pathetic of me" mumbled the orange haired boy as one glass like tear trickled down the milky skin of his cheek. It was time. There was nothing left to do but step into the abyss and end his miserable life. With unsure step, Hinata shuffled towards the edge of the roof. The wind tousled his hair and tore at his shirt as if it was trying to blow him back to safety. But the man was certain he wanted to die so with a more sure step now he inhaled a sharp breath before jumping high for the last time, off the roof edge.

Hinata closed his eyes and waited for the thud of his body hitting the ground and the sharp pain before he was at peace. But.. it never came. Unsure of what was happening Hinata opened his brown eyes and squinted through his ashy lashes. Shock rippled through the man's body as he realised that some way, some how, his body was suspended in the air. It was as if he was made of feathers and God had pressed a switch to remove gravity. He let out a short gasp as he glanced down at the fall below him and the height made him feel dizzy and sick. Regret felt like a punch to the man's stomach as he realised how stupid he had been to jump. He remembered his teammates and wondered what they would think now. He remembered his sister and how his stupid actions would effect the rest of her life. And then he remembered Kageyama and wondered if he would ever find out or care that Hinata was dead.

"Is this what they mean when they say your life flashes before your eyes" Hinata burbled to himself.
"No it is most certainly not old man" replied a boy's voice with a snicker.
Hinata's chocolate eyes were wide with panic. Was he hearing things??? And how was he still in the air?? He quickly glanced to the left, then to the right when the voice spoke again in a harsh but loving tone.
"Above you baka"
Reluctantly Hinata raised his head and nothing could prepare him for what he saw.
A young man in his late teens was lounging back in the air grinning at the orange haired man. His hair was translucent and he seemed to be radiating a white glow. His canine teeth were pointy and rested on his lower lip and his attire was a casual red hoodie with blue jeans and trainers.

"A-are you a-an angel?" stuttered Hinata his words catching in his throat.
"An angel?" Scoffed the boy a wicked smile stretching across his face.
"Quite the opposite old man, you have in fact just made acquaintance with a devil, and I am here to make a deal"
