Flock Together

"Let me find Ledra." I was being serious. I wanted to find him. I could help Kaminari find him. I knew I could. Kaminari stood there staring at me. He blinked a few times then opened his mouth only to close it back again. His eyes started glittering and inhaled with an excited look on his face.

"You would? You really would?!" I nodded in response.

"I actually believe you Kaminari! But I want to ask that you accompany me."

"Accompany you? I would love to but. I'm a goldsmith and a pirate. It would seem like I'm doing more stealing if I was to accompany you. I want you to find it and report back to me when you do." He grabbed hold of my shoulders and gave me a firm look.

"You can do it Midoriya!" I smiled at that. 

"Ummm Deku! I hate to interrupt but the sun is starting to rise. We might as well start heading home now that we are awake." Ochako entered the room and was smiling with sleepy eyes.

"Uraraka you look tired. Maybe we should rest a little bit first."

She shook her head to say no.

"I want to see my mom and dad as soon as possible."

Kaminari looked between us and then looked like he just had an idea.

"I just had an idea!" DID HE JUST READ MY MIND!?

He motioned for us to follow him so we did. Ochako looked at me with a questioning look. I just shrugged and followed Kaminari.

He walked up to Asui and whispered something to her. He then stood up straight and said "Tsuyu is going to help you get the chests home. Have a lovely evening Lovebirds!" Then he walked away.

Ochako and I blushed t his comment but tried to pretend we didn't hear.

"You two ready to go? Ribbit." I forgot to mention that Asui is a half breed. Not exactly but she has the qualities of a frog. Its not that uncommon.  A lot of people are born with the qualities of animals like birds, frogs, turtles, dogs, cats, etc. These people are called half breeds.

We followed her to the stage where she climbed up and walked behind the red silk curtains. We trotted along behind her as she pushed open a door that led to a cellar. It was quiet and gloomy and damp and cold. Asui looked around a bit and we did the same. 

Suddenly there were movements in the dark. I saw two. No, eight. There were loads of them. Then an entire flock of birds surrounded us! Blackbirds. Crows and ravens all around us. Squawking and letting out loud cries. Ochako and I covered our ears while Asui just stood there. Slowly the birds flew away. One by one. When all of them were gone they revealed. A man with black spiky hair. He was wearing a bird mask and a black cloak.

Asui walked up to him and then turned to face us.

"This is Fumikage Tokoyami. He is a good friend of mine, Ribbit." He looked at us and said "Nice to meet you. And how are you doing Tsu?"

"I'm doing very well, thank you, ribbit." She again turned to face us. 

"Toko will get your treasure chest and take you home, Ribbit."

"Why do you always bring people to me like I am a taxi." He said. His voice was really deep.

"Ribbit." Was all Asui had said.

"Well might as well take them now that you brought them all the way here. What are your names?" He asked us.

"Oh um, I'm Izuku Midoriya and this is my friend Ochako Uraraka."

"Okay then. Midoriya and Uraraka. Let's go." He walked away with one bird on his shoulder an Asui behind him.

We again looked at each other and then followed. He went towards the back of the cellar and opened a door that was at the end.

He turned to us and then opened it. He walked out and we followed. There was a meadow on the other side! It was so beautiful and wide with a single tree in the middle. 

Tokoyami suddenly stopped walking and turned towards us again. He pulled out a long silver object that was hanging around his neck from under his cloak. He blew into one end and then the entire area became silent. Unexpectantly it became quite windy. Tokoyami looked up at the sky. I turned to see what it was he was looking at. A big black thing was flying towards us. As it came closer I realized... It was a bird! A giant bird! 

"Woah! I've never seen one that size!" I said. He truly was huge. He landed right in front of us and caused a huge wind to blow over us. We shielded our faces until it stopped. When it did the giant black bird let out a screech and then settled down.

"Dark Shadow. Don't do that to our guests." Tokoyami was talking to the bird now known as Dark Shadow.

"WELL YOU DIDN'T TELL THEM TO BE CAREFUL NOW DID YOU!?" The bird now known as Dark Shadow was TALKING to Tokoyami.

"IT TALKS!" Ochako and I exclaimed.

"Ribbit. Yeah. This is Dark Shadow. He can be like that sometimes." We looked at the giant bird to see him being petted by Tokoyami. He looks happy actually. Asui walked up and started stroking his head as well. He started making a sound like a cats purr. 

"He doesn't bite. You can come to touch him too." Said Tokoyami still stroking Dark Shadow.

I looked at Ochako and she had no hesitation to run over and hug the giant bird. I walked up slowly and slowly set my hand onto his side. It was really soft and warm.

"Birdfolk am I right? You people train birds of different sizes and species."

"Yes, that's right. We tend to hide away from people though. Birds are fragile, beautiful creatures. But humans think it's fun to shoot them for sport. Dark Shadow here is a tool that I use and need so I can't afford to lose him."

"'Tool'? I don't see him as a tool. He is more like a pet isn't he." I commented.

Tokoyami looked at e for a few seconds with a rather surprised face.

"Yeah. I can see why you think that. I do tend to spoil him more than the others."

"Others?" 

"The smaller birds that I keep inside. I trained them all."

Wow. It really is amazing how much you can learn from other people.

"Okay. I will go collect your treasure chest. Midoriya, come with me please to show me where it is."

"Okay," I said. We both headed back to the cellar door to get the chests.

I wonder what we'll do after this.

Yeah sorry for not updating this in a while. I've been having a serious case of writers block for it. Anyways, I'll see you guys soon. TOODLES! X3
