I wake up a day later in the hospital wing and I missed a lot and the three of them don't tell me the complete story until we're alone outside. The news that Pettigrew escaped alarms me. That means for the rest of the time I have left at Hogwarts, I read ahead on offensive and defensive magic. Nothing could can come of Pettigrew escaping. If I see him again, I want him to know that he made the wrong choice. I also spend the remaining days with Fred, either by ourselves or with George and Lee. As the last day approaches, I start to dread more and more going home. I do not want to talk to my parents. About anything. I think they lost the right to hear my secrets once they neglected to tell me that I was almost an orphan.

On the train ride home, I spend it with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. "I went to see Professor McGonagall this morning, just before breakfast. I've decided to drop Muggle Studies." "But you passed your exam with 320%" counters Ron. "I know, but I can't stand another year like this one. That Time-Turner, it was driving me mad. I've handed it in. Without Muggle Studies and Divination, I'll be able to have a normal schedule again." While they talk, I turn and look at Harry. "Are you okay?" I ask. "I'm okay," he says too quickly. "I'm okay. Just thinking about the holidays." I grimace. "Yeah, me to," I say. "Guys, you've got to come and stay with us. I'll fix it up with Mum and Dad, then I'll call you. I know how to use a fellytone now -" "A telephone Ron," I say. "You should take Muggle Studies next year..." Ron ignores me. "It's the Quidditch World Cup this summer! How about it? Come and stay, and we'll go and see it! Dad can usually get tickets from work." I agree to it quickly and tell Ron to get in touch with me - the wizard way - as soon as he can. The less time around my parents the better.

Then, something small and gray bobs into our sight. Harry stands up to look at it and we notice that it's a tiny owl, carrying a big letter. Harry opens the window and catches the owl. He brings it inside and the owl promptly drops the letter and starts to zoom around. Neither Hedwig nor Maple seem to approve of the owl. I chuckle. "It's from Sirius!" Harry says. "Read it aloud!" I say. "Dear Harry. I hope this finds you before you reach your aunt and uncle. I don't know whether they're used to owl post. Buckbeak and I are in hiding. I won't tell you where, in case this owl falls into the wrong hands. I have some doubt about his reliability, but he is the best I could find, and he did seem eager for the job. I believe the dementors are still searching for me, but they haven't a hope of finding me here. I am planning to allow some Muggles to glimpse me soon, a long way from Hogwarts, so that the security on the castle will be lifted. There is something I never got around to telling you during our brief meeting. It was I who sent you the Firebolt. Crookshanks took the order to the Owl Office for me. I used your name but told them to take the gold from my own Gringotts vault. Please consider it as thirteen birthdays' worth of presents from your godfather. I would also like to apologize for the fright I think I gave you that night last year when you left your uncle's house. I had only hoped to get a glimpse of you before starting my journey north, but I think the sight of me alarmed you. I am enclosing something else for you, which I think will make your next year at Hogwarts more enjoyable. If you ever need me, send word. Your owl will find me. I'll write soon. Sirius."

Inside the envelope is a permission slip for Harry to go to Hogsmeade! "That'll be good enough for Dumbledore!" Harry says happily. For the rest of the train ride, none of us really talk. When we step off the train, I spot my parents along with Edward right away. I groan. They're standing next to the Weasleys, so there's no way to delay our meeting. Mom is looking more anxious than I've ever seen her and I notice dad trying to comfort her. Edward is whispering something in her ear, but I don't care enough to pay attention to it. "I'll call about the World Cup!" Ron tells us. "Remember, as soon as you can," I emphasize. When I reach my parents, my mom starts to walk toward me, but I give her a look, that makes her back off. "Chloe," I hear my dad say. I don't know if he's mad at me, sad, or what. "No. You almost died and didn't bother to tell me," I hiss. I think of them dying again and with them standing right in front of me, it makes me tear up. Where would I have gone if they were dead? "Unless you're going to apologize, you can save whatever you were going to say," I tell him. I walk ahead of them without another word.

*Author's Note: Chloe Cullen 3 is finished! With another cliffhanger, might I add. When will Chloe and her parents make up? Will they ever make up? Who knows? Only time will tell. *Evil grin*. First chapter of Chloe Cullen 4 will be up next week! (I know, I'm so creative with titles LOL)*
