hoseok waited patiently outside yoongi's door. he heard the door open and saw a man slightly shorter than him, with honey brown hair and delicate features. he gulped, hoping yoongi wouldn't notice him turn slightly red.

"a-are you min yoongi?" he stuttered.

"oh my god, who the fuck else would i be? yes, it's me, dumbass." yoongi ruffled hoseok's hair and chuckled.

if not for the sound of rain, their trip to the café would've been completely silent. hoseok tried not too blush too hard at their too-close-for-comfort distance. after all, his umbrella was really only meant for one person. he sighed in relief as soon as they reached their destination.

"i dunno why, but i really like the rain," yoongi stared out the window. "it's calming."

hoseok didn't add to his words. he only studied yoongi's features: pale, porcelain skin, deep black eyes, soft lips and a cute button nose.

"hoseok? hello, earth to hoseok?" he was snapped out of his daze.

"oh, sorry," he cleared his throat. "what were you saying?"

yoongi 'hmphed' which made hoseok giggle. "if you were listening, i was asking if you like the rain, too."

hoseok thought for a moment. "well, i don't enjoy the rain," he hesitated, then looked straight at yoongi. "but it depends on who i'm in the rain with, which can make it enjoyable."

yoongi raised his eyebrows and smiled. "wow, nice insight. so you're not all annoying after all. i like that. i think we'll get along pretty well."

then, as if it were to happen at this exact moment, hoseok felt a burning sensation in his throat. he grabbed his tissue and started to cough. he pulled the tissue away from his mouth, and saw a deep red spot on it. he quickly covered his mouth again and started coughing more violently, now with tears threatening to fall out.

"h-hey, are you okay?" yoongi asked worriedly, unsure if he should stand up and help or not.

hoseok quickly stood up and struggled a bit to speak. "e-excuse me, i'm gonna go to the washroom real quick." then he ran off.

he spent what felt like hours in the washroom. he lay against the stall's metal wall, too weak to move his legs. the toilet was splattered with blood and amaranth petals everywhere, almost as if it was halloween setup. with his little strength left, he pushed himself up to sit up straight. he heard the restroom door creak open.

"hey... hoseok? are you there? you've been gone for a while... are you feeling okay?" a familiar voice questioned.

hoseok shut his eyes as tightly as he could and wished that whoever was on the other side of the stall door would leave. he can't be seen. not like this. unfortunately, things didn't go as he wanted and he let out one last cough of blood. he heard a light knock on the door. hoseok felt his vision become blurry. he felt lightheaded after losing so much blood. but he didn't know what to do first- flush the blood filled toilet or unlock the door? he knew he only had enough energy for one.

with his last bit of strength, he slammed against the lever to get rid of the bloody sight. now he could hear yoongi knocking a lot louder this time, almost banging, but he couldn't even move his arms if he wanted to.

"yoongi-ah," he said softly. "can you hear me? please help. please."

for just a few moments, it was quite peaceful for hoseok. he couldn't hear anything- just a constant ringing in his ear. he saw someone. someone familiar burst into the stall and crouch down and speak to him.

but he couldn't hear him. he felt his eyes slowly close and everything became blurred.

then it was all dark.
