jungkook fiddled his fingers and nervously fixed his hair, looking into his phone camera. 'left sweep? or maybe a right sweep.' he was so busy fixing his hair that he didn't notice a familiar figure pop up behind him, lightly tapping his shoulder. he flinched and turned around, defensively grabbing the wrist by instinct.
"ow, that kinda hurts," hoseok winced. "can you please let go?"
"oh my god, i am so sorry," he quickly took his hand off and rubbed hoseok's wrist area. "are you okay?"
"haha, of course i am! i guess it just kind of surprised me that your grip was that hard. i don't call you muscle boy for no reason!" hoseok grinned. jungkook just blushed in return.
"well, come on, get in the car! we might be late for the movie."
[—]
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT I'M NEVER SLEEPING AGAIN."
hoseok, twenty minutes after the movie ended and the theatre lights already turned on, still held onto jungkook's arm for dear life.
"you're the one who wanted to see it!" jungkook exclaimed, a bit frustrated himself because the film gave him a bit of a scare, too. he shook the arm that hoseok held onto and shined a bit. "come on, let's just go alreadyyyyy."
"you muscle bitch, do NOT let me go until we get to the car."
"huh?"
"after that 2 and a half-hour possible cause of death, you don't think we could get possessed... or ever worse... killed?!" hoseok shuddered and held tighter onto jungkook's arm.
"oh my god. you're such a big baby, fine..." jungkook rolled his eyes and looked the other way to hide his growing smile.
sneaky ass bitch.
the two walked out of the theatre stuck together like glue. as they walked along the dark plaza, the cool breeze blew against their faces and the neon gas signs of each restaurant lit their path. although quiet, they enjoyed each other's company, not words needed.
soon enough, they passed by a 24-hour corner café whose bright lights flickered on and off every now and then.
"was that dessert place always there?" hoseok stopped in his tracks and tilted his head.
"no, i don't think so. wanna go?"
hoseok grinned in return. "of course!"
they entered the small, but cozy café and the chimes at the door alerted the employees of their arrival. they took a small booth table right beside the window with a clear view of the beautiful night sky. while hoseok was busy ordering for the two, jungkook couldn't help but admire his features.
his sharp jawline, perfect almond eyes, high cheekbones, bright smile... everything about him made jungkook have a jittery feeling in him.
"is there something on my face?" hoseok chuckled.
the other boy jerked from his daydreaming and quickly raised his hands to wave them. "oh my god, sorry, i didn't mean to stare!" he let his hair cover his eyes while he looked down.
"i'm just kidding, calm your balls bro," after hearing that, jungkook slowly looked up and laughed along with hoseok. the older boy continued, "you know it's really out of the blue, i know, but there's something about you! something that i can't pinpoint it, but i like it. a lot. you're just so easy to talk to and totally different from so many people i've met before. you're caring, sweet, and just a fun person to be with. there's not a lot of people like you anymore, and i'm just glad we met."
jungkook felt a blush slowly creep into his face. if not for the server placing their food on the table, he wouldn't have been snapped back to reality.
"really?"
hoseok grinned (for like, the third time since they've entered the café) and ruffled jungkook's hair. "really. now let's dig into our food before it gets cold!"
the two spent the rest of their night eating, reminiscing of old times and learning more about each other. perhaps a story of hoseok's first date, or maybe how jungkook got fired from the burger joint down the street after a single day at work. they laughed about good memories, let out their underlying feelings for bad ones, and ultimately enjoying each other's company.
jungkook knew it was selfish of him, but he kept smiling about hoseok's words and the way he made him feel. he knew it was wrong. even after everything hoseok has told him: the pain and agony because of his one-sided love with another, was it so wrong for him to still feel this way?
he couldn't help but think... was it so wrong for him to love?
