Dad drove me to George's house to pick him up that Saturday. I told him to wait in the car when I went up to the door. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I wasn't dressed very nicely, since we were only going to be watching TV. I rang the bell, and his dad answered the door.
George's dad was truly the opposite of what I thought he would be. He was a lot taller than George, about six foot three, with grey hair that was combed over to the left. He was wearing a suit with a blue tie and black dress shoes. He looked pretty stern when the door first opened.
"Hi Mr. Williams," I began timidly. "I'm Rich, I'm here to pick up George."
Once I introduced myself, his serious expression turned into a wide smile. "Nice to meet you, Rich. I've heard a lot about you." I shook his hand, feeling a bit less scared than before. "George is upstairs getting ready, why don't you come in?" I nodded as he led me inside.
"You have a beautiful house," I exclaimed, staring at the beautiful rooms. I knew that the Williams' were well off, but I had no idea their house was so huge.
"Thank you!" We walked into the den, which looked more like a ballroom with some couches in it. George's mom was sitting on one of them, also wearing a very nice suit and heels.
"You must be Rich! So nice to meet you!" I shook her hand, giving her a smile. "Thank you so much for helping him out at the party. He told me everything when he got home."
"Yeah, no problem." I didn't know what "everything" meant, but I hoped to God that she didn't know we slept together. I tried to get my mind off of that and said something else. "I have to say, you're so pretty. I know where George gets his good looks from."
"Aw, thank you! You're such a sweetheart." It was true, George did look a lot like his mom. She couldn't have been more than five foot four, with bouncy brown curls down to her shoulders and brown eyes. Just then, George walked into the den.
"Hey, Rich!" I took a moment to look at him. He was wearing pajama pants and a white t-shirt. He had his thin wired glasses on, which I hadn't seen him wear in over a year. He looked so gorgeous, even when he wasn't wearing his usual fancy clothes.
"Hey, George!" I gave him a hug as he walked up to him. "You ready to go?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Wait! I need pictures!" His mom exclaimed. His dad chuckled a little bit.
"Really, Mom?" George rolled his eyes, still smiling.
"Please! You're both so cute, I need to capture it." Reluctantly, he gave her a nod. "Go sit together on the couch."
She took a few photos, then the two of us got up to leave. George's dad came up to me to say some things before we left.
"You were probably expecting a whole 'overprotective dad speech,' but I know just from the way you look at him that you'd never hurt him. So there's that." He chuckled, and I scratched my head. "Anyway, if he falls asleep or wants to stay the night, you'll call us, right?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Thanks, kid. I can see why George likes you." I beamed.
"Dad, can we please go?" George asked. His mom laughed.
"Yeah, yeah. We know when we're not wanted. Call us if you need us." We both waved as George led me to the front door.
"Sorry about my parents, they can be a handful," George told me.
"Oh, don't worry about it," I replied. Truthfully, I already loved George's parents. His mom was so sweet and caring, and his dad seemed like the type of person who would hurt anyone who hurt him. It was awesome.
