"What does the moon tells you every night? If it seemed to be connected, do not stop until you can already figure things out. One dream could be a piece of the entire story you might have experienced as life."
03.
HOW COULD THAT PUNK STEAL FROM ME MY JOB IN JUST A SNAP OF HIS FINGER? I can't believe I lost it.
"It's another 2,981$ maam. We already deducted from it the benefits that he got from the health insurance."
It's 2,981$ and I only received 500$ from the hotel yesterday. All in all, I only saved 1,500$. I don't know what to think anymore. I am also so careless for wearing that bra. Why does it have to be that day? Ugh!
"I'll pay half of it, Maam," I said as I gave her the money.
"Did something happen? You always pay it in full but this time," while tapping the counter, she asked. "Did something happen?"
I nodded. I looked around. The hospital is really the saddest place I have ever visited. Although I've been always here since my Dad is diagnosed with lung cancer, I still feel sad whenever I come into this place.
For one, everyone is sick. Some are even dying. And, the people that come here visit to the diseased people, praying for each of their recovery. I envy those who have money to easily pay for the medical bills just to bring their sick families home. I wonder how it feels like to no longer worry with burdens such as this.
"Oh I am sorry. It must be too much of me," the nurse said while handing me the receipt.
I gave her my cordial smile. "Don't worry. It's fine. I just got fired from the hotel I've recently been working. That's why I assured to pay half of it first before I could find another job."
"Really?" she said in a cheerful response. Her lips curved wide and it's so unusual of her to react that way.
"Why did you get fired?" She leaned her elbows on the table.
I sighed. "Well, there was just this punk who ruined everything the other night. I hope he gets sick badly. He deserves to just lie in bed than make fun of everyone who's struggling. Tsk, goddamn jerk." I couldn't help myself but express what I really feel.
"There must be a good reason for that," what? How could it be a good reason? It's the only job which pays me big. It is a big loss for me. Where could I even find something to replace it in short time? Unless, a miracle happens for me.
"I think you deserve to be receiving a better job opportunity. Look," she gave me a piece of paper.
It's a flyer from Brook's Hospital. This hospital? I gave a glance to the nurse and she smiled at me.
"You mean, they are looking for a janitor? Well, janitress in my case. Anyway, really? And," I looked at the flyer again, "they offer 200$ for 8 hours?" I gaped in amusement.
Everyday, if I focus my job in cleaning, I will be able to collect 6,000$ a month. Oh my god. This is twice the payment for the monthly hospital bill.
"Yep, the flyer was just fresh from the basket. You better hurry before many applies for that job. It surely will help Mr. Condor," she said and smiled at me.
She's right. If I grab this opportunity, I will be able to earn a lot of money. This is amazing.
I leaned my elbows on the counter. "Where do I go for employment?"
---
I stretched my arm and did an exaggerated one upwards. Ugh, what a tough day for me! I pat my head, "Nice job, Avyn. You made it TO THE BROOK'S HOSPITAL!" I blared.
