"The moon attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished."
- Deng Ming-Dao
10.Miller's hands held mine, allowing my body to go with him to the direction he is walking along. Without any hesitation, since the occurrence happened so fast, I let him drag me anywhere he goes. Besides, I am a little disappointed with myself. I know I did nothing wrong but the point that anyone hates me for doing nothing only makes me feel that I am just a small person that no one cares, no one respects, and no one really loves.
That is why I cried. I thought I'd be satisfied after pouring so much tears of disappointment but I think I just felt the complete satisfaction when Miller said those words in front of me; that I am more than enough, that I am also valuable, and that, I deserve to protected regardless of who I am.
I also heard the reason why Miller doesn't want her anymore. I understand him and she deserved to be left though. I am not trying to be a villain in their love story. I know Miller has been a bad joker but I think he is a good person. He loves for real and the point that he tried to be perfect for Melany proves that Miller is not a jerk. She should've been good to him. Why did she even cheat in tje first place when she want to be with Miller?
Our legs stopped in front of Dr. Brook's office. I could see him obviously distracted. He must be bothered by her girlfriend. I am not dumb. I know he is just fooling around.
"I am sorry," those words that come from his mouth justified my thoughts. He really was not sincere with what he said.
"No, it's fine. Anyway, thank you for helping me escape from your scary girlfriend," I joked to divert the awkward talk into something just natural.
He moved one step closer to me which made my back attach itself on the wall of the office. My eyes went in random movement, trying to escape from his charismatic gaze. I engulfed such a saliva because of anxiousness.
I hope he does not notice how I feel so uneasy now. Oh, right! I should just push him away!
"Don't let it bother you so much," before I could force him away, I suddenly looked at him.
My mouth could not even utter a straight word. This is torturing me. For real.
"W-what do you mean? Ah," I pushed him away this time. "You mean the words you said earlier?"
He nodded his head with his sarcastic smile again. I guess it is what defines him as a sarcastic person.
"What are you talking about?" I laughed, acting like I am not really affected. "Why would it even bother me? It's not even like I am your type. And although I am not pretty, you're not my type. Okay?"
He laughed in response. Really? Does he have to be that mean? How could he change his attitude that easily?
"Why are you so defensive? By any chance, am I honestly your type?"
And what are you talking about now? You punk!
I laughed again. This is awkward.
"Stop cracking jokes you know. We're not even close. Remember, it's you who made a mess in my life so be careful next time," in a quick movement, I gave him a portending look, trying to warn him not to fool me again.
