Roland POV

Leslie wasn't joking about Falcone coming in with a new security system.

Luckily when I got home I saw the gun on my bedside table lay untouched.

They had given my apartment a whole lot of new modifications. Including a secret passageway through my walk-in closets door.

Inside there were TV monitors linked to security cameras all around the outside.

There was a new alarm next to my door in-case anyone broke in, and there were also motion detectors around all the windows.

I couldn't help but wonder how much all of this costs.

He had also fixed all of the window and door locks to make it more secure, and even left a new key on my mantle place.

I looked to Falcone after I was done exploring.

"Carmine, I appreciate this. Really I do, but... Isn't this a little excessive? I mean how much did you spend?"

He just chuckled.

"My dear, there is no need to worry about that. You are just as worthy as any Falcone to be protected like this." He put his hand on my shoulder.

I just laughed. "I wonder why Mario and Sophia left so soon. They didn't have to worry about constantly looking over their shoulders.."

Carmine grimaced and dropped his hand.

"They both wanted a change of scenery."

He started to look around and continued where he left off in the car ride over.

"The security cameras are in place for emergencies. I know you said you felt like you were being watched; This key is for the new lock in your front door. The new lock is a more advanced placement to prevent lockpicking and whoever banging down your door. The motion detectors on the window are linked to your alarm system. It hasn't been set up yet until you input the code and you can change the settings at anytime. Speaking of..." Falcone continued walking around me to hit a switch on the alarm.

Suddenly the lights turned on, and he changed the settings for a variety of colors.
"It also comes with a back-up generator. That'll help with the cameras and TV monitors, as well."

"Wow... You... Really went all out." I smiled.

He grinned back and placed both hands on my shoulders again.
"I know this seems a bit much, but we just want what's best for you. That includes you being Leslie's bridesmaid tonight."

My eyes widened and I nearly started coughing.
"Wait... Leslie wants me to be a bridesmaid?"

"Her Maid Of Honor, actually. Victor will make sure to pick you up and drop you off when the time comes. We have the dress ready for you, but it'll be at the reception waiting. Never can be too careful."

He turned to leave and I spoke up.
"Hey, Carmine... Thank you."

He turned around and just smiled.

"Also, can you tell Victor to use the front door this time? I might have to get him a spare key because my neighbors have been sending in noise complaints when I'm supposed to be sleeping, and when I'm not here." I chuckled.
