I have to say with the most sarcasm that these several years' time would be enjoyable. Other than spending time at Tsuna's house, hanging out with my friends, and annoying Kyoya, I met some unusual events.
Maybe because I have been interacting with the characters lately, I got into some coincidence or bad luck.
| Eight Years Old |
Two mothers began a bond. The week after the school year started, Mari visited the town to take a walk. At least, she got the route. However, Mari got into a crowd due to a supermarket promotion happening on that day. Alarmed, she tried to find a solid wall. People bustled about to grab the latest goods.
Nobody bothered that a woman was in denial or helped her. Nana, who happened to be at the supermarket, saw Mari. She approached her to check, "Do you need help?"
Mari chuckled nervously, "I just wanted to cool off."
"Then how about a cup of coffee?" Nana smiled.
Mari felt joy when Nana neither bring up about her eyes nor pity her. The first meeting turned into multiple playdates for Tsuna and me. Mari enjoyed Nana's company and smiled more often nowadays. She would spend most of her time going on walks or going shopping with her. Sometimes, Aunt Yukari would tag along on their trips as she has a packed schedule.
This year, I decided to take on something different. Before the future events arrived, I signed up for after-school curriculum activities. Since I lacked strength and reflexes, I joined the Karate Club.
Movies made martial arts seem impressive and easy to do. I thought I have the insane talent in combat and kicked people's butts with my badass ninja skills.
When expectations come, disappointment entered the room.
A shot of pain raced up my spine as my back thudded against the mat beneath me. I groaned, began to feel frustrated at myself.
How many times it been? Ninth?
The tenth trial against my opponent within the first half hour!
"Well, it's normal for newcomers," the instructor in charge of the club laughed. "One week isn't going to produce the results. Work harder!"
Rolling to my feet, I scanned my opponent-a first-year boy- before throwing a fake punch. I quickly snapped a leg forward-he blocked it and did a reverse turn kick. I narrowly leaned back to avoid, my feet stumbled back. I took a few steps away to regain myself. We circled each other, cautiously eyeing our next move. I whirled myself into a high kick that was deflected, and he put me into an arm lock before he flipped me.
I hit the ground again for the eleventh. Huffing, I blew a strand as I laid on the ground, defeated.
A loud whistle halted the practice matches inside the gym. I let out a sigh, relieved that my butt was saved. I scrambled upright and went up to the middle to shook hands with my opponent.
"Good match, Hiragi-san," he smiled. I forced a smile to return the gesture. Having my butt kicked by someone younger than me damaged my self-esteem.
"Yea, Ito-san,"
I pulled back quickly and leave the practice grounds. I went to sit in a far corner. To sulk. Who cares if people called me childish? I am a child still in this body. But being older than my physical age made the whole situation worse. Did anyone know how shameful it is to have your ass handed to a seven-year-old kid?! I supposed to be intellectually smarter than kids at my age, so it should be no big of a deal? My brain had soaked up a lifetime of knowledge. I guess I just have zero fighting skills.
