The chapter is basically just the past where Adora and Mania are students in a magic academy.

"Ahh!" Adora yelped when she was thrown to the ground. She struggled to get up. After hours of training yesterday, her legs and arms were sore. She couldn't fight back, making her look weak in front of the other students.

"Why does the school even have a weakling like you?" One of the bullies slammed his foot on top of Adora's hips, pushing her a bit as if she were like a bag of trash.

"Didn't you know?" One of his friends asked. "She came from a rich family, she probably bribed the school!"

"Hey," a raspy voice said behind them. The owner of that voice placed a hand on the bullies shoulder. His eyes glowed black, activating his abilities.

And just like, they screeched and ran away feeling the feeling of spiders crawling all around them. The feelings of loosing their senses. Their phobias had scared them off.

The guy turned to Adora.

"Um," she sat up. "Thank you-"

He walked away without a word. His work had been finished, but Adora wanted to thank him.

She didn't know him. Never seen him before, never talked to him before. But it was at that moment she knew, he was someone special.

"Why do you keep following me?" the guy asked in an irritated tone.

Adora only smiled. "I asked you if there was anything I can do to repay you, but you never answered."

"The only thing you can do is leave me alone!" the guy turned around with the coldest look.

Adora wasn't phased by it. She replied with a question. "What's your name? My name's Adora."

He only rolled his eyes, turning around and walking away.

"Hey!" she scoffed. "Don't be rude! Tell me what your name is!"

He continued to ignore her, making her groan in annoyance.

"What?" she asked. "Am I not worthy enough to know your name?"

He turned around with a smirk. "That's exactly it."

She smiled a bit as his smile, or smirk. "I'll prove you wrong."

"Yeah we'll see about that," he replied.

The next few months were just like this. Adora still didn't get his name, so she decided to name him herself.

Mania.

Why is his name Mania? Because his ignorance causes her madness.

She followed him into the crowd of people in the halls. Noticing him getting further and further away, she held out her hand to reach for his black leather jacket, but soon was pushed into the wall.

"Ugh!" She banged the back of her head on the wall, falling onto the floor. Looking up, she saw her bullies.

"Finally we got you alone," he sighed out. "You're always with that son of a bitch."

"Don't talk to Mania like that," she glared at him, getting up from the ground.

"Well someone's gotten brave," he said amused by her words.

Adora only rolled her eyes, attempting to walk away before he grabbed her wrist and trapping her between his arms on the wall.

"You think because you learned to talk back, I'm gonna stop playing with you?" he leaned in close to her face, making her shrink into the wall.

"Get off," she tried to push him off.

"You're still too weak." he smirked. "Can't even push me off. You're-AHH!"

He yelled out loud when he felt someone grab a handful of his hair, pulling him back and slamming him onto the ground.

Mania stomped his foot on the bully's chest. "I let you off easy last time, but you didn't learn from your lesson."

"Mania," Adora got up, grabbing his arm. "Let's just go, he's not worth it."

"Fine," he shook her grip off, walking away with her. But he wasn't satisfied yet. He turned around, his eyes glowing black as he used his phobia ability on the son of a bitch.

"I don't get how you let him push you around," Mania glared at Adora. "Why do you let him do that to you?"

Adora smirked at him. "Hold on, is that you caring about me?"

"No," he shook his head. "It's just me asking why you're such an idiot."

"You do care about me!" she jumped on him, hugging him tight. She was surprised that he didn't shake her off. A little disappointed that he didn't hug back, but he didn't push her away.

"Thank you, Mania," she whispered. "I'm glad to have a friend like you."

His cheeks went red.

"Okay, that's enough," he pushed her away gently, patting her head a bit like a pet.

1 year later....

"Why do you have to leave?" Adora asked.

Mania turned around. He frowned at her teary eyes, and pouty lips. He stepped forward and cupped her face with his hands.

He smiled sadly. "One day, we'll meet again."

"How can you be so sure?" Adora asked.

"Because," he leaned in, pecking her lips lightly. "I just know it."

"I don't want you to leave," Adora cried. "Please don't leave."

"I know," he whispered, hugging her tightly in his arms. "I know."

"Adora," he called her name.

"What?" she asked, crying into his chest.

"My name's Mark."

She pulled away from their hug, looking at him. "Mark?"

He nodded, smiling when she said his name. It just made his heart beat in his chest.

She smiled. "So I am worthy enough to know your name?"

He rolled his eyes, pulling her in for another kiss. He didn't say it back then and he regrets never saying it, but he loves her.

He always wondered what would happen if he had decided to stay with Adora instead of moving away with his family.

What would happen between the two?

Author note:
Mania was a good person back then, being influenced by Adora's kindness. But after leaving home, he changed.... yikes
