Anthony's POV
"Do you guys want to make a pizza at home instead of going out?" Ashley suggested as everyone else was arguing which restaurant to go to.
"That sounds good to me,"
"Yeah, I'm cool with that,"
"Okay, that's fine,"
Everyone agreed and Ashley seemed very pleased with herself.
"Yay!" She exclaimed happily, "I can go to the store to buy the stuff we need."
"Okay, if you'd like. I'm gonna stay here though. My mom asked me to do some chores before she comes home tomorrow." I rolled my eyes as I explained."Oh, that's fine. Does anyone else wanna come?"
Ashley's POV
I didn't mean to take Anthony's friends away from him, but I really hate going anywhere alone.
"I can go," Jaden offered and I smiled in response. He smiled back.
"Alright, thank you. Ready to go now?" He nodded and everyone handed me $10 (each) for the groceries.
As we were heading out the door, I heard Anthony yell, "Don't have too much fun without me," From the other room. What he really meant was, "Don't have too much fun with Jaden." It's okay though, he's cute when he gets jealous.
We decided to just go to Walmart since it is the closest and cheapest. I'm not gonna lie, I thought going with Jaden would be awkward since I've only just met him, but he's so chill and easy to talk to.
"So you and Anthony really like each other huh?" A smile immediately took over my face.
"Yeah, he's perfect. He gets me, he's funny and kind and perfect. Do you have a girlfriend?" He looked skeptical when I asked, and he sat in silence for a few moments before answering."Well, sorta. Her name is Mads, well Madison actually, and right now I don't even know if we are together. She's been having some.... health problems and when I tried to help her she pushed me away. But we never actually broke up... It's complicated I guess. I'm so confused and just want to help her." He looked so heartbroken, I just wish I could help both of them.
"If you don't mind me asking, what were her health problems?"
"As much as she denied it, I could tell what was going on. She claims that, that she doesn't have an eating disorder but she's dropping weight, spending hours at the gym, and is starting to push people away. Plus she barely eats. I don't want her to go through this alone but she won't let me help."
I don't know what came over me, but I suddenly became defensive.
"Well maybe she doesn't have an eating disorder. Restriction doesn't always mean an eating disorder, okay? Give her some space I'm sure this isn't a big deal!" Jaden looked very taken aback, and I immediately felt bad. "I'm sorry, that wasn't like me at all. I don't... I don't know why I did that. Maybe just give her the space she needs and she isn't getting better, try to help. Or tell her parents or something. Okay?" He smiled and nodded in response, but I could still tell that he was shocked by my harsh tone previously.
We pulled into the Walmart parking lot and I got out of the car as soon as I parked, not wanting to be confronted by Jaden.
He grabbed my wrist gently and turned me toward him. "Listen, I'm not upset at you, okay? I was a little surprised, yeah, but how could I be mad at you?" He winked at me and I giggled, looking down.
"Okay, that's reassuring. Thank you," He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we walked into the store, getting a cart on the way.
Jaden took the list out of his pocket that he made on the way here.
"Alright, so looks like we need pizza sauce, ingredients for the dough, any toppings that we want, mozzarella cheese, and yeah anything else."
"Cool, let's get it then."
✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴✴"Pineapple totally belongs on pizza!" I laughed as Jaden and I were arguing over this serious topic.
"No it doesn't! Pizza shouldn't be sweet, and pineapple shouldn't be hot. It's, like, the law."
I rolled my eyes jokingly, "Whatever, we are buying the pineapples."
Jaden is so sweet and also attractive, Mads is a lucky girl.
I almost felt like he was kinda flirtatious towards me today...
Get out of your fucking head, why would someone like him even look at a fat girl like you?
What am I even thinking? He has a girlfriend who is probably a million times prettier than me. Not that it takes much anyway.
"You're really sweet Jaden. I'm glad you came with me," I smiled at him as I said this, genuinely happy to finally have a real friend.
"Me too, you seem very sweet. This was fun, but it's probably good we're leaving now, the guys are probably wondering where we are." Confused, I looked at the time and realized we have been gone for 3 hours. Wow, time flies when you're having fun I guess.
"Yeah," I laughed. "But messing around in Walmart is the best."
Chapter Nine will be up tomorrow! (Hopefully, but we all know how bad I am at ACTUALLY updating when I say I will lmao)
