The moment I arrived at the airport, I connected to wi-fi right away so I could chat Lucien.
Me: "Babe?"
Him: "I am here babe. Where are you?"
Me: "Just arrived. Will go through Immigration first."
Him: "Yes babe, take your time. I'll wait for you."
Me: "What happened to you?"
Him: "Sorry, I slept babe while watching Netflix hahaha!"
Me: "That early?"
Him: "Yeah, was tired that day. Was lying down while watching, so I fell asleep babe."
Me: "Ah ok babe. Omg, I was worried about you. I thought you won't be here to pick me up today."
Him: "Crazy girl! That will never happen."
After Immigration and everything, I went to the ground floor where the Arrivals area was. I was looking straight outside the door when suddenly he appeared from nowhere. I was surprised to see him. I was expecting to meet him outside.
"Hey, babe you're here!" I exclaimed
"Yes babe. Welcome to Vietnam," he said with enthusiasm.
He hugged and kissed me. We went outside. It was raining. It was also cold. Not the Philippines type of cold during December but it was real cold. I was only wearing a regular jacket and it felt like I was not wearing one. I wanted him to hug me while walking but that would be difficult. All I could do was complain about it.
"Babe, it's so cold! Why you didn't tell me it's this cold!" I complained.
"I told you babe to bring warm clothes because it's cold here," he answered matter of factly.
"Yes babe, I brought this jacket but this is not much of help. I should have brought the jackets I used in Korea. It's fucking cold here!" I pouted.
He just laughed and hugged me and we had to stop a bit while he did. It was drizzling. A guy with umbrella passed us by and looked back at us. Maybe looking for a cameramen too, checking if we were doing a scene for a movie. Lol. Maybe he was thinking, "Crazy people. Hugging under the rain (actually just drizzle) instead of taking shelter."
His hotel was just near the airport. He booked for one night only and will be checking out at noon that day. We still had almost 5 hours before check out time. We maximized the remaining hours. He just dropped the key the moment we entered the room and made up for lost time. It was a month and half since we last saw each other, that was in Cambodia. We were both hungry for each other, like wild animals devouring each other, lol. At 11am, I woke him up saying we should get ready to check out. He was surprised and couldn't believe it. He checked the time, it was only 10am. Lol. I used my Philippine time wristwatch. So, it was just 10am, Vietnam time. Anyway, we still got ready because travel time to the city was 40-50 minutes.
Our hotel in the city was his surprise for me. He didn't even give me the name so I won't look it up. Though he already gave me an idea that it's a suite room. He said he ticked the box "for honeymoon" arrangement. He's also excited with our room.
When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk told him that there's a problem. That the room that he's supposed to have is not yet vacant, that the guests extended their stay because their child is sick and because of the ncov, for fear that their child will be exposed to it, they can't check out yet and needed to stay longer. I knew he was pissed off. He asked, how could that be when it was already reserved long time ago. I wanted to fight with the clerk and tell her his point. That it was already reserved and paid a month before and they should have ensured that the room is available. I was pissed off myself. They should have been the one to talk to the guests that they can't extend because the room is already reserved. (There are a lot of hotels in Hanoi for Mary and Joseph's sake! They should have been the one moving out and looking for another hotel!) Now his surprise room for me is ruined. The clerk offered him another room from the same hotel but different location (just within the area too). She said it's almost the same room. Suite room too. He can do nothing about it but to accept it. (Anyway, if there's a sick child in there, then I don't wanna be in that room.)
