Chapter 6: Confusions.

---

"Zee!" She yelled again. I stuffed my bag with books and ran off.

"Coming!" I replied. Waving Annu goodbye, I slammed the door behind me running furiously towards the lift.

"Always late." My mom whispered.

I was pretty sure I was super late and our professor would've started the class, but as it goes, he is late. As always.

My friends are down. I walked towards them, half asleep.

"Zee," Kuss said. "Look at you! You're looking so..."

"Exhausted?" I completed. "Well, I am. It's seven-thirty AM. What do you expect?"

"Oh come on!" Ummey slapped my back. "No grumpiness today. And Zee, you're coming at my place after tuitions. We're all bunking school today."

"Is it?" I ask, confused. They usually don't bunk schools. I do, though.

"Yes. We're meeting at my place."

"Um..sounds cool. But let me go home. I'll freshen up and--"

"Oh, no, no, no. You won't ever come. I, of all people know that. You're coming with me, okay? My mom will talk to yours about this."

"Cool, then. Sounds like a plan."

After an exhausting class, which was a little blur for me as I was sleeping, we got down. Ummey, Liya and Renee were discussing when to come and what to bring. Kuss was having some personal thing with Sharon. I was waiting, hugging my books, wanting to get the hell out of here.

"So Zee?" Ummey grabbed my hand, suddenly, making me jump. "You can wake up now. Time to go."

After waving, that seemed a lot like yelling and scowling, we finally walked to her home. She is the kind of person who can't walk like a sane human. She'd poke my cheek, scribble my arm with her finger and call me names like 'shonu-monu, Zainulie' and other stuff that don't make any sense at all. But I love it anyway.

One thing I'm hiding since this morning is, Quentin. I don't mean it literally, but the thought of him in the same city as me scares the daylight out of me.

Trust me on this; I'm not exaggerating. He's such an imbecile, he'll do whatever to embarrass me in front of everyone.

"Zee!" Ummey called, clicking her fingers in front of my eyes.

"Oh, y-yeah?" I say absently.

"Where have you been?"

"Sorry. I spaced out."

"Not a problem. But what were you thinking so hard?"

"Nothing. Some fear issues." I whispered the last part.

"What?"

"Yeah. Nothing. Just worried about my mother's response."

"Oh don't worry about that. My ma got it."

I smiled.

The worst part of all this was that Ummey's house was exactly where the university was. He would be there.

What if he comes out of nowhere? What if Ummey saw him? What if she thinks he's my boyfriend like Alf does? What if he finds Ummey attractive, because of course she is?

Wait, Why'd I care if he finds her attractive. His wish!

This explains me that Alf was right.
