It was evening and Nishinoya was on his way home after their volleyball training until he decided on stopping by a near convenience store. He searched around the convenience store for his favorite soda flavored popsicle, Gari-Gari Kun.
He exited the store, a satisfied look plastered on his face, with the popsicle in hand. He started consuming it until something — or rather someone — caught his eye.
A girl with H/L H/C hair sitting on one of the chairs outside the store while softly humming a tune, her feet rocking slowly like a happy kid, a bottle of lemon iced tea on the table beside her. Her chair, instead of facing the table, was facing the sky as she watched the starry night sky.
She took notice of Nishinoya and looked at him with a soft smile, "Good evening." Nishinoya instantly thought she was adorably cute and on top of that, beautiful.
"G-Good evening!" He greeted back with a grin which earned a giggle from the girl because of his energy.
She stood up and made her way to him with both of her hands tucked inside her hoodie's pocket and stretched one of her hands out of her pocket and in front of him, "I'm L/N F/N. Calling me by my name's fine. Nice to meet you." She introduced herself with a smile.
F/N wore a pair of black leggings, an oversized long yellow hoodie that reached mid-thigh, the hem of her long probably oversized turquoise shirt showing at the end of her hoodie, matched with a pair of black lace up ankle boots.
Nishinoya enthusiastically but slightly shyly held her hand as he introduced himself, "Nishinoya Yuu! I'm a second-year in Karasuno High and also the Libero of our volleyball team!!" He proudly introduced himself and finished his popsicle in a flash.
She slight furrowed her brows and eyes at his hand that she still held, "Well that explains the scratches and bruises." She stepped closer to him to take a good look from both of his hands up to both of his arms as she took both of his hands in hers.
Her actions flustered him while she showed a concerned look, "Do they hurt?" He shook his head as 'no' which made her let go of one of his hands and pressed on some of his scratches and bruises on the hand and arm that she still held, "Are you sure it doesn't hurt?" She asked again.
"F-F/N-san, it doesn't." He replied, a blush still evident on his face. She closed her eyes softly as a sigh of relief escaped from her lips.
Nishinoya's eyes trailed to her hand that held his and spotted something. Her hand seemed skinny, too skinny. "Your hand..." He absentmindedly thought out loud which made the girl in front of him let go and mutter a small apology.
A comfortable silence took over the both of them while they sat on a bench rather between a table for two. Y/N had her bottle of lemon flavored iced tea beside her left while Nishinoya sat on her right, admiring the beautiful starry night sky with her while they shared a conversation here and there about anything in particular.
That was until she suddenly jolted in her seat and checked the time on her watch. Nishinoya noticed how surprised she became after checking the time.
"I'm really sorry but, I'll have to go ahead." She apologized and bowed her head in front of Nishinoya and raised up with a smile on her face.
He stood up from his seat and was about to reply until a voice interrupted him, "Y/N! Where are you?" It called, seeming to look for someone. Nishinoya looked at the girl while she looked at him in an apologetic manner, "And, there he is. He's a bit late than always." She laughed small and took steps to leave.
"See you, Nishinoya-kun!" She waved and walked a bit fast towards the voice that called her. Before he could say a word, she was out of his sight. He stood up and walked towards the street, hoping he could catch a glimpse of her while she left with the person calling her.
Nishinoya wasn't able to look at the unknown male's face since the unknown male stood where there wasn't light.
"Jeez, you know you gotta stop sneaking out. It worries me." A male's concerned voice sounded coming from the man standing beside Y/N.
"Sorry, sorry." She sheepishly apologized with a laugh, "But, you can't blame me."
Nishinoya watched as the pair walked away. When the street light emitted light on top of the pair, his eyes widened.
The previously unknown male was tall, has dark brown hair, and wearing a Aobajosai sports jacket. When the said male looked side-ways, he immediately recognized him.
Oikawa Toru.
