In early mornings like today, Oikawa would jog as usual as he made his way to Aoba Johsai for their morning volleyball practice. Their morning practice are scheduled to be held at exactly seven-thirty in the morning, yet he would always walk out of their residence at exactly six or around that hour. It became his routine. His body clock became used to it that even in the days they didn't have any activities early morning, he couldn't wake up later than five.
He would usually go straight to Seijoh but since the passing of his little cousin's mother, he would always visit the L/N residence before making his way to his school. Sometimes when doing so, he would bump intoo either Tsukishima or Nishinoya.
Oikawa made his visit known as he knocked and after a few minutes, he was invited inside by the man of the house, his uncle. After exchanging words and starting a small conversation with his uncle, he excused himself to go up his cousin's room and the man didn't do anything about it.
"N/N~ Good morning!" Oikawa greeted after knocking on her door. Even after a few minutes he had greeted her, he only received silence. There was absolutely nothing for them to know whether she was asleep or not; after all, she didn't talk to anyone other than that one time regarding her request to Takeda and her father. Even with the pain of uncertainty, Oikawa continued speaking without making it obvious that he was pained by her silence. But everyone knew that even if Oikawa didn't show, Y/N could always comprehend his feelings without asking if she was right or not, since she always is.
Oikawa started by whining how tiresome their volleyball practice has become and how their coaches became stricter, which is normal whenever there was an upcoming match. He then proceeded telling her about Haru, their second-year manager, whom he claimed to be succeeding in his ways for her to be his girlfriend although his story faltered from their female manager to his violent friend, Iwaizumi. How the shorter male would always 'bully' him, treat him 'badly', and the usual Oikawa and Iwaizumi fights.
As his rambling continued on and on, he had eventually sat on the floor and leaned his back against her bedroom door, his bag on the floor beside him. As he told, as if, endless stories, his eyes wandered around his surroundings; admiring how an entire floor became her place in her residence. It wasn't anything unexpected since when she was only a child, she would always be up here as if she was Rapunzel who lived at a tall tower the only difference was that she liked it here, up in her room and doing whatever she wants, although there were times wherein she would sneak away to visit Tsukishima, to visit Oikawa himself, hope she would bump into Nishinoya before when he had no idea of her, and sometimes just wander around to her heart's content and leaving them to find her or would surprise them as she had already gone home before they had. It lightly annoyed them how she would always leave her phone, leaving them with zero options to contact her without running around town to look for her.
Oikawa quietly sighed, and dusted off the non-existent dust off his white and turquoise blue Aoba Johsai track suit. He bid her his goodbye before making his way back down to the second floor of the residence where there stood his uncle who seems had accidentally made two cups of coffee and a cup of hot chocolate, probably for the girl upstairs. His chest tightened; even his uncle wasn't yet to be used to the absence of the other female in this residence.
Oikawa walked forward, approaching his uncle who had just finished pouring two cups of coffee on the other side of the island counter while Oikawa stopped across his uncle, the counter between the both of them. After his uncle had noticed his mistake of making an extra cup of coffee he sighed which was followed by a light chuckle.
"Looks like I'm still not used to having one person missing." His uncle said with a sad smile. He added a bit of milk on the hot chocolate and sugar marshmallows, just exactly how his daughter loves. Oikawa could only muster a comforting smile while his uncle then proceeded adding condiments for himself, leaving the extra cup of coffee untouched.
