"So Jack's on his way here you were saying?" Sue asks Mathews.
"Oh! so you do care?" Mathews finishes patching up Rodrigo.
"Of course I care you, big idiot, I just... I don't know, guess I just believed he could help" Sue sits on a chair and buries her face in her hands.
"A criminal? You think a criminal is going to help regular people like us? You truly lost it Sue" Mathews washes his hands.
"Well when he wakes up, I'll hogtie him and give him to Jack to turn in I guess" Sue shrugs.
"YOU WOULDN'T!" Beth barges into the tent.
"Beth! What the hell are you doing here?" Sue stands up.
"Listen to y'all, talking about a man as if he's an object. Mathews, last I remember you's was a no-good drunk before we found you. And Sue, well, you know damn well what I can say about you!" Beth says angrily.
Sue walks over to Beth and slaps her across the face, "Watch who you talking to, girl"
Beth grabs her cheek and barges out of the tent, tears rolling down her face.
"It was one hit," Mathews says with a bothered tone.
"Shut your mouth and fix the boy!" Sue snaps at him and runs out of the tent.
Sue looks around searching for a sign of Beth, she stops to catch her breath. Suddenly, she hears soft sniffling and crying. She walks behind a big bush, Beth laid on the ground, her face buried in the grass.
"Bethany?" Sue says softly.
Beth looks back, her eyes red and filled with tears, "You here to hit me again ma'am?" she says mockingly.
"I'm sorry" Sue says softly, she kneels.
Sue reaches for Beth's arm, but Beth pulls away.
"You promised," Beth says, her face buried in the grass.
"Beth, I just reacted, I didn't mean nothing by it. I swear to you, I... I just..." Sue looks down at the ground.
"He's done wrong, we've all done wrong, that don't mean we can't change" Beth sits up and scoots over to Sue.
"Beth I'd never hurt you... well least I thought I wouldn't" Sue's eyes get watery as she speaks, "I'm still afraid of what I did" Sue wipes her tears.
"You did it to save me" Beth puts her arm around Sue.
"That ain't what I'm talking about" Sue says softly.
"So what is it then?" Beth asks.
"It's about the... well about the"
"Bring that horse here boy" Buck says.
"No es nuestro caballo(it's not our horse)" Rodrigo says.
Gennifer translates.
"Son, go get that horse, I ain't repeating myself" Buck pushes Rodrigo towards the horse.
Rodrigo walks forward and quietly approaches the horse. He strokes the side of it, patting it on it's neck.
"HEY!" a man runs over to Rodrigo.
Rodrigo takes his hand off and backs away.
"What are you doing with my horse, boy?!" the man pulls on the horse's mane, away from Rodrigo.
"Nada, solo lo estaba viendo(nothing, I was only looking)" Rodrigo raises his hands.
Buck shakes his head and walks over to them, "Sir, please, the boy was merely looking at the horse" Buck stands in front of Rodrigo.
