Life around your own little compound had become blissful in the several weeks after your private jet rendezvous. Jungkook had become a regular fixture in your home - by day, you worked, and you slept together at night more often than not. For a while, Taesub was even present (not for the bedroom activities.) His family was gone abroad for two months this time for several rounds of clinical trials while he was left behind to work. His home empty, and him lonely, he hung around the complex most of the time he was off. The dinners and drinks nights in your apartment had continued, and even morphed into the occasional game night whenever Joohyuk stuck around to join you. The cherry on top was that the stranger hadn't returned, and even Joohyuk called the situation a fluke. It was possibly the happiest time in your life - and like Jungkook said, you went with its treacherous flow.
Tonight was Friday night. Specifically, it was Dongnam's son, and future heir's, birthday. All the heads were invited to the party to celebrate the rotten shit turning 23. You had on a velvet black gown with two high cut slits that exposed your long legs, and a deep vee neckline that accentuated the curve of your breasts. You, of course, topped it off with red lipstick, as well as an array of diamond jewellery.
The party was beyond lavish and luxurious, held inside one of Dongnam's multiple estates. A rare occasion only reserved for the most important of events. Attendance to the party was non-negotiable. The main white-marbled hall buzzed with people of all sorts, from mobsters to CEO's to government figures to the frat boys who were their children and Dongnam's kids' college friends. Waiters moved smoothly through the crowd passing out glasses of champagne and hor d'oeuvres. Along the sidelines hung men in black suits – security for the event. You scanned the perimeter looking for Jungkook. He, of course, had volunteered to escort you for the evening. You found him, watching you from the wall. As per usual, he was expected to blend in with the rest of security while you fumbled through the party, so he wore his black suit. But the sight of him, looking only at you and somehow more polished than usual, knotted your stomach. He winked once and you turned to hide your ridiculous smile.
The hours rolled on and you were becoming bored. Bored of the banter, the small talk, the people, the fake smiles. Basically, the party was your living hell. You couldn't wait until you could leave. You were in the middle of yet another conversation with some statesman and his wife when your cell phone began to buzz. You looked down to see Jungkook's name flash across the screen.
"Excuse me," you said goodbye to the couple, delighted to have an out from them. You checked the message.
JK: First hall on the right. [11:23pm]
You looked around the room and found him standing near the opening to a long hall you assumed led to the kitchen. Another message buzzed.
JK: There's a situation. [11:24pm]
JK: Follow me. [11:24pm]
You looked back up at him as he strode down the corridor. What was he up to? You weren't sure – but whatever it was, you were intrigued. You slipped skillfully past the patrons until you made it to the opening in the wall. With one look around you stepped forward and walked cautiously keeping your eyes peeled for Jungkook.
JK: Fourth door on the left. [11:26pm]
You looked back and counted the doors until you found the fourth. You approached it, testing the give on the handle first before you pushed it open. You poked your head inside... a broom closet? Well... a broom closet the size of a bedroom.
"Hey," you felt Jungkook's warm hand lace its way through yours.
"Jungkook, what are we doing here?" you asked, but the answer you somehow already knew. "You said there was a situation."
