I took my spray bottle, it was to help my curls stay bouncy and wet looking. I grabbed my backpack and met Monse on the porch. "Ready?" Monse said "I think I should be asking you that." I said "I'm ready." She grabbed her backpack off the floor and we started walking. We met up with ruby and Jamal , Monse stopped by Cesar's house. "He's not coming." Jamal said "And why would you want him to?" Ruby added.
Not even a few seconds later he came out his house and it was all fucking awkward. Jamal went on this rant again about holding secrets. "So your trying to hide the fact that your not playing football?" I said "Yeah, well to protect myself." "Just tell your dad it can't be that serious." "You don't know the importance of the situation, my dad has a Legacy if playing-" "So what!,it's your life." I said "I'll die if I said that to him." I laughed.
We heard gunshots go off in the distance and I jumped a little bit. "It's fine, it happens all the time here." Ruby said "Oh my gosh, I'm really in the hood." I laughed "You haven't lived in the hood?" Ruby said "Mmm, not really just a poor neighborhood which I think is way worse we just don't use guns." In the middle of us talking we heard someone say "Cesar" I looked over and it's Oscar again, I immediately looked away from being nervous.
Cesar got into the car and they pulled off, Monse came beside me. "I can't stand him" she said and I just looked at her. I was still in shock I didn't know what to say. We got to the school and it's bigger then what I expected, all the kids were talking to each other and I walked Monse to her classroom then went to find mines. My English class was full of people who already knew each other I felt like an outcast like I knew I would. I picked random seat and sat there.
I felt this girl tap me and I looked over. "Hey, you dropped your lipgloss." I looked down and picked it up.
