Heartbroken but still functioning

Ever since you confessed your feelings to her, you and Chaewon haven't spoken to each other at all.
She probably thinks you're weird or even hates you at this point, so much for taking a break.

Who knew heart break was such a good motivator? In the past three months that you and Chaewon haven't contacted, you've drastically increased your dancing and vocal skills along with your friends who are currently all trainees at the same agency.

"Okay everyone! For this month's trainee evaluation you were assigned into groups and given choreography and lines to reproduce and perform, please take these last five minutes to rest and prepare before performing." Your uncle walked behind the table covered in the companies logo and began to fill out paper work, before gathering everyone's attention after the five minutes have passed.

One by one each group performed their re-evaluation and exited the room, all jittering with either excitement or fear, possibly both. You and your friends were the last to enter the room and quickly got into formation, you were assigned VICTON's "What time is it now?" and boy did you ace it. Your entire group received an A evaluation and were met with applauds from trainees re-entering the room who were watching outside.

The group of company officials passed out the grading papers and quickly gathered everyone's attention as they prepared to deliver important news.

The sound of boots clacking against the hard wooden floors filled the silent room of tired trainees, your Uncle slowly walked towards the front of the room as the lights died out to reveal a live projection on the wall, it was a digital audition poster for a new survival show that was being hosted by M-NET, the words 'PRODUCE 101' all in blue were on the screen.

The room of silent trainees was now a room of excited and gasping trainees. "As you all know from the rumors, M-NET is planning another male survival show; however, this one will be a massive collaboration between Korean, Chinese, and Japanese agencies. This is one of their most ambitious survival projects to date and will garner lots of popularity from all three countries. Five trainees have been selected from this month's evaluation to participate and hopefully debut in the final lineup of nine."

The room was quickly filled with applaud and cheers before it was quickly extinguished for another announcement. "Following this news, for the past two months we, the company officials have finally decided it is time for a new group to debut! This group will promote while the trainees participating in produce, fight their way to the debut line!"

After an exhausting day of cheering and practicing, you took the last bus home on the way the bus stopped at an intersection, which happened to be right outside of 'Off The Record Ent.' the company IZ*ONE was currently under, outside of the building were a group of girls, laughing and cheering as they walked towards the intersection. These girls were IZ*ONE and in the middle of them was, Kim Chaewon and a male who was holding her hand, and following behind the group.

They stopped in front of the parking lot where Chaewon stood on her toes and kissed the male on the cheek, waving him goodbye as she turned her head to the bus you were located in and spotted you, broken-hearted and staring right back at her.

It took a minute to process everything that had happened and you quietly sunk into your bus seat, turning your head away from her as tears formed in your eyes. 

The bus had stopped at the nearest bus stop, you quickly made your way to the front and tipped the bus driver, thanking him as you stepped off of the bus, and began to walk towards your house.

The only thing illuminating the street were the gas station signs and the street lamp, your mind was too clouded in thoughts to even bother to stop by at your favorite food stand to buy a late snack.

Your walk home was relatively short due to you being too busy to process time. You quickly inserted the key into the door and unlocked the front door, quietly closing the door and locking it behind you as you made your way upstairs and into your comforting room.

After a quick shower, you lazily rolled into your bed, staring at the ceiling as you attempted to comfort your broken heart. All the progress you made into moving on, simply vanished. You were now back at square one and your heart still ached for Kim Chaewon.

Chaewon's POV

'Why, why, why, why, why'

'You're so stupid! Why did you have to confess to me!" She grabbed the pillow and threw it into the air before ultimately facing the consequences and having the fall straight onto her face.

'Why couldn't you just keep your feelings to yourself..'

'I will always see you as a friend, Lee Y/N.'

Chaewon slowly lifted her body upwards and stared outside of her window, it began to rain and soon her window became covered in specks of water. The pitter-patter of the rain continued, calming her down as her fatigue from dancing all day slowly caught up to her. She was fast asleep within seconds.

RING RING.

Chaewon groaned as she slowly rose from the bed, stretching her arms out as she cutely yawned, sliding her legs off of the bed and into her slippers as she walked towards her bathroom, where she quickly checked the time on the digital alarm in the mirror.

'9:37 AM'

Spiraled on the edges of the clean mirror were pictures of her friends and all the memories she made, and in the corner was an abundance of pictures of her and y/n. She couldn't help but tear up , she missed y/n and their friendship, but couldn't bring herself to see him.

After her morning routine she quickly made her way into the black van awaiting outside of her house with the rest of the members inside, they were all tired from the previous night, they had just finished creating choreography for their new comeback and were now on their way to commence on a hectic day of photoshoots and filming.

The company had recently constructed a new building in which the photoshoots and filming were the begin and on the way, the van was forced into taking a detour and passed y/n's house, where she spotted him walking outside, carrying a duffel bag and walking towards a bus stop.

'It's time to finally move on and forget what happened, you're too busy to be hungover on old friendships.' she told herself as she fixed her hair, the van came to a stop and the IZ*ONE members quickly filed out of the van and into the new building where they would take photos and film behind the scene vlogs for the rest of their busy schedule-filled day.
