Graduation.

An idea that has become a reality. The lights, the shiny, large stage, the giant audience. Everything is just how you thought it would be as a kid. It was almost your turn to walk across the stage, you were miles deep into the line but you were able to exactly pinpoint your best friend, Kim Chaewon. Her long brown hair dangled down her shoulders, following her with each step she took closer to the stage.

"Next, Kim Chaewon!" The crowd erupted into cheers and chants, followed by the sounds of flashing cameras all focused on the beauty crossing the stage. This was all expected for a famous idol.

A sense of proud erupted in your veins as you called out her name, a bright smile plastered onto your face  as she walked across the stage and quickly went down after a bow to the audience.

It felt like forever before you were able to cross the stage yourself, "Next, Lee Y/N." You could hear your friends whistle and cheer on as you graciously grabbed your diploma and bowed. You didn't receive as much praise and affection due to how unknown you were, it didn't bother you because you'll work hard to make that change.

My name is Lee Y/N, an 18 year old who attends Hanlim Multi Art School and also the proud best-friend of, Kim Chaewon. Your dream was to always be surrounded by a crowd of fans calling out your name but the more you progressed on in life, you realized fame wouldn't be given as easy as you thought it would be.

As you lifted your head from your bow, you spotted your parents and your uncle, who happens to be the CEO of the locally known IDOL agency, 'KONTENT Media' you always wanted to make them proud like any other child would. You wanted to succeed, you wanted to make your parents proud to have a son who lived a successful life and you sure as hell would work hard for it.

Stepping off the stage, you were quickly greeted by Chaewon with a tackle, in which you instinctively picked her up and spun her around before carefully letting her back down. You two normally were always flirty with each other and were naturally close.

"We finally made it! No more school!" Her cute giggles were always your soft spot and you hated it, you hated how she made you feel every time she was around. You hated how she made you love her even though she didn't return the mutual feeling. You fell for THE, Kim Chaewon, long ago and you still were never able to confess.

"Come on let's go take pictures!" She grabbed you by your hand before you stopped her and pulled her back. "Can we talk for a second? There's something I've wanted to br-!" You were harshly yanked backwards as a crowd of fan-sites, media crews, and fans fled to Chaewon to take pictures of her.

You quietly mumbled to yourself as you fixed your uniform and held onto your diploma tightly as you walked behind her in a separate line, "..I love you, Kim Chaewon." your heart ached for her; however, deep inside you already knew you two would always stay as best friends.

After hours of  taking pictures and partying with your family in celebration of the special occasion you managed to temporarily fix your heart by stuffing your mouth with your favorite foods and napping for the rest of the day

"LEE. Y/N! WAKE UP!" Your father's loud raspy voice echoed into your room causing you to abruptly wake up, throwing your body upwards and almost tipping yourself over onto the floor. "Y-Yeah?" You called out as you quickly grabbed your hoodie, throwing it on as you rushed down the stairs to see, Chaewon standing in front of the door, holding a bag of chicken and flowers, her face being covered by a hood and mask.

"C-chaewon? What are you doing here?" You quickly fixed your hair and closed the door behind you as you two talked on your porch.

"I came to talk to you, dummy. You said you wanted to talk about something!" She flashed you a heart-warming smile as she set aside the bag and sat down on the wooden bench.

Your heart was racing, should you confess and put everything on the line or should you keep it to yourself?.

Y/N's Parents POV

"Oh our baby's gonna confess! Finally he's gonna get a girlfriend!" Your mother excitedly bounced up and down, clapping her hands together as she shook your father back and forth.

"$10 bucks he won't, he did this last time!" Your father said as he crossed his arms together, intently watching you and Chaewon talk.

THUD!

"Ow!" Your father rubbed the back of his head, easing the pain from your mother's harsh slap.

"That's your son you old hag! Where's your confidence in him!"

Y/N's POV

Breathe in and out.

You can do this.

Just tell her how you feel.

"Kim Chaewon.."

You nervously toyed with your fingers behind your back, forcing a smile as your ran your fingers through your hair.

"I'm in love with you, I love your bubbly and bright personality. I love the way you make me feel around you, I love your cute smile and your stupid jokes. I love everything about you. I..Love..You."

For a second you were proud of yourself, you had finally brought up the courage to convey years of love into a short sentence before you realized she was just staring at you, in shock.

"Y/N...I'm sorry but I just see you as a best friend.." She quietly got up and grabbed her belongings before heading to the steps of the porch, before stopping and turning around, glancing at a heart-broken Y/N. "I think we should take a break from each other...take care of yourself, Y/N.."

Love is a funny thing, even though your heart can be shattered within seconds and left there to fix and replenish itself, no matter how broken it still aches for the one who broke it.

Kim Chaewon, you broke my heart, but I still love you even though we're just,

Best Friends.
