It was dark, and cold, and you were frightened. Something was making you run, but you couldn't figure out what it was. Your bare feet splashed through black puddles on the ground, and your lungs ached. Still, the alleyways curved on and on. You were growing tired, and breathing became more difficult. You were slowing down, and finally came to a dead end. Panic overwhelmed you as it came closer. It reached out it's hand. It was inches from taking you...

You sat up in bed, shaking. Gasping for breath, you stared into the darkness. The sweat on your skin stuck to the sheets, and tears started to form at the corners of your eyes. You grasped at the things around you, trying to determine what was real. Your hand found someone else's in the sheets and you let out a large, shaky breath.

Todoroki blinked at you in the dark, taking your hand in his. "Is everything okay?" he asked, wearily. He sat up in bed, letting the sheets fall from his bare chest. You searched for him in the dark, and buried your head in his neck as he wrapped his arms around you. "It was just a dream," he said, stroking your hair. "I'm here."

You tried to catch your breath, listening intently for the pattern of his. Shoto's breathing was deep and slow, and it eventually calmed you. You let him hold you a bit longer, before pulling away. "I'm sorry," you said, looking down at your hands.

"It's alright, Y/N" he said, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear. "I thought the nightmares were getting better, though."

"They were. I don't know, I guess I've been stressed lately. When I'm anxious they come back." You laid back down, and gathered the sheets up around your waist.

"What are you so anxious about?" he asked, doing the same.

"You'll laugh at me," you said. You laid your head on his chest and sighed as his fingers traced small patterns on your arm. "You always say that I freak out over nothing."

"Well that's true," Shoto replied with a small smile. "But if you didn't worry so much, I bet neither of us would be alive."

You scoffed at him and remembered all the times you'd saved each others butts in battle. You raised your face to look at him, and started tracing the lines of his face with your fingers.

He closed his eyes and smiled, " Mm, I love when you do that," he whispered.

You giggled and kissed his jaw softly. Slowly, you kissed his cheek, and then began to move down his neck. He turned his face toward yours, finding your lips with his. Suddenly, it was hard to remember where you were, or what had happened before. Each time your lips met, you were taken further into what some would call bliss. Kissing Shoto felt like the start of a fire. Every second there was more passion, and more heat, until the whole room was ablaze.

The fire grew a little while longer, until you both remembered what time it was. He broke away, catching his breath and letting out a long sigh. You smiled at him and nuzzled your nose against his. He laughed and took you in his arms, closing his eyes and succumbing to the lateness of the hour.

You lay quietly like that, until you remembered the dream.

"Shoto," you whispered, "I - I'm just afraid of losing this. Of losing you."

He opened his eyes and stroked your face, absentmindedly. "Are you planning on going somewhere?" he asked, simply, as he stared at the ceiling.

"Well, uh.. no, but still..." you started, "what if -?"

"Well, if neither of us are planning on going anywhere, what do you need to worry about?" he replied. You were startled, and a little annoyed by how matter of fact he could be. Shoto had a way of accepting life, and flourishing in it, no matter what shitty cards he was dealt.

"It's impossible to tell what the future holds, Y/N." Shoto looked at your face that he held in his hand, "All I know is that right now, we're both here, and I'm in love with you. And that's enough."

"You're right," you said, eyes shining. "That's enough."
