Athena's PoV
The past few days have passed away quickly. Our men found the Carter hideout And we would be going to monitor it for the next week. Noah and Jack were particularly very busy. Jack ensured that all the men knew what to do.
Throughout this week the Knights men have been treating me very well surprisingly and they also respect Jack and Hunt too. I still didn't get a chance to speak to Noah about what he did that day but I will catch him up and ask him what was all that about soon.
"We will be starting at the break of dawn so you all better get a good sleep tonight," Noah said at the dining table. " Noah and Athena are going together and Jack and I will go together in different cars just to avoid suspicious eye," Hunt said getting up.
Why do I have to go with him? I gave Hunt a look and he was smirking right at me. Tomorrow is going to be for sure a very long day.
We were all assembled at the hall ready to leave, but Noah wasn't here yet. Seriously will he ever be on time! I saw him coming down the stairs in joggers and T-shirts. Usually, he wears very formal clothing but today he was in casuals, and to be honest, it's suited him.
I heard hunt to clear his throat indicating to me that I was staring for too long. Dammit.
So Noah and I were in the car. The silence was almost suffocating, to say the least. So I decided to break it.
"When did you start training for the mafia?"I asked nonchalantly. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "What? It's just a question." I said shrugging. "I think I have trained my whole life. I don't even remember when I started it" he casually replied.
There was silence again. It has always been hard to make small conversation. "When did you start training?" He asked looking at me. "Since I was six. Jack and I always train together." I answer.
"You are good at it you know," He says. I lift my eyebrow In confusion. "Fighting. You are really good at it." He says smiling. I'm pretty sure that was the first actual smile that I saw from him and my God was it good!
"If I was good then why did you help me that day?" I asked at last. He chuckled and said "I said you were good, I mean really good. But I never said you are better than me". He is so full of himself.
"But seriously why did you help me that day?" I asked in a serious tone. "You seriously want to know, sugar?" He smirks. There we go with that name again, he had called me that mutiple times till now. My cheeks started to heat up as I nodded.
"Well, In the beginning obviously you noticed that my men respected me and Eva very much. But they didn't show the same towards you or Jack or Hunt. To an extent it is not their fault, they have been trained to only respect their leader. And also they were quite astonished to see that a female was the leader of such a big gang." He said in a sincere tone.
"So I had to do something so that they would respect you too. Of course, I could just tell them to respect you and they would but respect is something that should come from inside" He said pointing to his chest.
"So if they knew that you were capable of fighting their boss they would automatically respect you. And hence I helped you." He said and looked out of the window. I don't know what to say. I obviously didn't expect that.
"Thank you. That was really considerate of you" I say looking at him. "My pleasure sugar" he says smiling.
"Okay, what's with this new nickname?" I ask seeming annoyed. " you don't like it sugar?" He smirks.
"Oh shut up," I say. Again silence filled us but this was more of a comforting one.
