Baby

"Congratulations! Your wife is pregnant." The doctor said.

After hearing the awesome news, Daniel went crazy with happiness.

"Thank you doctor! Thank you so much. Can I see her?" He said.

"Sure." The doctor agreed and opened the door for Daniel.

Daniel walked in and saw his wife laying down on the hospital bed. She had a warm smile on her face as she saw her husband walking towards her.

Daniel held her hands tightly as tears of joy ran down his face.

"I'm so happy. This is the biggest gift ever." He said and took a long breath.

He noticed tears in his wife's eyes.

"Brenda. I swear, as from now itself, I will never be harsh to you. I will quit alcohol. I will never get drunk and beat you again. I know, I've been a bad husband. I have always mistreated you. But as from now, I will treat you like a queen." Daniel said as he rubbed the hands of his wife, Brenda.

Brenda didn't reply. She only smiled at Daniel as tears rolled down her cheeks.

The couple had been married for two years and their married life had been a disaster. Brenda loved Daniel a lot.
However, Daniel was not good to her. He always chose his friends over her wife. He would hang out till late at night with his friends, not considering about his wife.
Most of the time Daniel would get drunk and return home. When Brenda tried to talk to him about the issue, he would beat her out of anger.
However, with the arrival of the new baby, Daniel decided to change.

The young couple was very happy.
They had started to prepare for the baby's arrival. Daniel bought everything that Brenda asked. He pampered his wife a lot.

Alas, happiness turned out to be only a short termed guest for the couple.

One day, while Daniel was not at home, something bizarre happened to Brenda.
The latter was cutting fruits in the kitchen when suddenly her phone started to ring.
She walked into the living room where her phone was.

As soon as she picked up the call, she heard a baby crying.

"Hello?" She talked.

"Who is this?" She asked.

The voice was very loud. She was worried but then she hung up. However, even after she had hung up the phone, she could still hear the cries of the baby. She listened attentively and she felt a chill down her spine. The sound was coming from her womb. She placed her hands on her belly and she felt weird vibrations.

Out of fear, Brenda started to breathe heavily. The cries of the baby had intensified. She sat down on the couch and blocked her ears. She closed her eyes in terror.

After a few seconds, the cries stopped. Brenda opened her eyes slowly. The room was silent. Out of a sudden, she felt someone breathing next to her.

She turned to her right and what she saw next made her heart shiver. A woman was sitting next to her. The woman had short brown hair, her nose was very pointy and her eyes were small. As Brenda observed her, she noticed that the lady had a baby on her lap and her dress was full of blood. Even the baby was covered in blood.

"Who....are...y..you?" Brenda asked.

"Shhhhh. You will disturb the baby." The woman whispered.

"But, what are you doing inside my house?" Brenda asked.

The woman looked at her sternly and then gave her a smile.

"How are you feeling now?" She asked Brenda.
