I had a great time riding Willow. He remembered every step. Lilly has been acting weird. I think she is hiding something from me. Anyways, it's Monday. Time for school. Yay. Not.
"Mom I'm leaving!" I shouted through the house.
"Okay! Do you want me to pick you up after school?"
"Sure thanks!" I said.
I walked out the door and started walking to school. It wasn't that far but it was still tiring. The good thing is that it gives me time to think.
Maybe Lilly was having trouble at home. I could understand that. Her mom is always working and her dad moved away. I don't know why she would be upset with me. What did I do? I've spent weeks in the hospital.
Then it hit me.
I know! Maybe she is mad because I never texted her what was going on! She must have been so worried. I definitely need to apologize.
I started running when I saw the school gates. Lily was standing by the gate waiting for the teacher to open it.
"Lily! Lily!" I shouted.
She looked up for a second but looked down like she didn't notice. I kept running hoping I could catch her. She started walking in the gates when I caught up.
"Hey Lily," I said.
"Oh hey! I never saw you," she said.
"I was shouting your name," I replied.
"Well a lot of kids are screaming and stuff so yeah."
"Okaaayy. Well I just wanted to apologize."
"For what?" She said.
"For not texting you when I was in the hospital. I kept you worried and that's why your upset."
"Um okay."
"That's why you were upset, wasn't it?" I asked.
"Uh yeah. Not anymore," she said not even looking at me," I have to get to class now. See you later."
She walked away before I could respond.
"Bye," I said quietly.

School was the usual. Math, science, language arts, PE, and social studies. Booorriing. Half of the time in math I didn't understand a word the teacher said. Something about equations.
The whole time I kept thinking about Lily. Something wasn't right about her.
I walked to the parking lot and found my mom. She waved and I jumped in the car.
"Hi, how was your day?" She asked.
"Good."
"Is something wrong?" She asked.
"Why would you think that?" I said.
"Well usually you talk about tests and stuff."
"No," I said looking out the window.
"Sasha I know you do," she said. "Come on, tell me."
"Okay, well it's about Lily. When she came over she was different. I think she is upset about something. I thought it was because I didn't text her much while I was in the hospital. When I apologized she never looked at me and sounded unsure," I said.
"Give her some time. She'll tell you. How about I invite her for dinner? You guys could go riding."
"Okay."

Lily was coming over I five minutes. We were going to do jumping.
I was in Willow's stall brushing him off. He was just a little dusty so I moved into the saddle. I picked it up and placed it on his back.
"Are you going to cooperate today?"
I clipped the girth to one side and walked around to pull the end of the girth up on the other side. I slowly started tightening it. Willow showed no emotion.
"Good boy." I said, patting his neck.
Lily was riding up the path with an indignant look on her face.
"Hi Lily! I'll be ready in a sec you can warm up in the ring if you want" I said.
She shrugged and led her horse to the arena.
"Ooookay. I guess she's ignoring me."
