Jones
The shit storm that Howie started was finally calming down. Tia was still a mess, her new husband was pissed, and Howie was glaring at the man while he stood off in the corner. Jones could see that Howie was going to take any opportunity he could to talk to her. But he didn't think that was going to be easy, or such a great idea.
Tia was married now, but that wasn't even the half of it...she was knocked up by some other guy too. Tia had been put through the ringer with her relationship with Howie, after everything with Jimmy and Addison. Even now Jones knew that with all the fuckups and heartbreak that Howie had put her through, she had moved on, and that was something he'd have to live with for the rest of his life.
But with everything that went down when Howie, Dax, and Nickels showed up, and the way Margie acted towards the guys, Jones was happy that he'd decided to stay out of sight of his little woman. No, he knew he needed to wait for just the right moment to show himself to his little pumpkin.
Jones watched Nickels light up a smoke as he watched Lynn, who was still inside tending bar; some huge muscle-bound guy started kissing her neck. Addie and Tia talked with their guests along with their new husbands, and he could only imagine the topic of conversation after Howie's show-stopping performance. Even went as far as to get in Addie's face like he was looking for a fight. In reality Howie was one lucky son of a bitch that Dax didn't beat the shit out of him right there on the spot, let alone her new husband!
It was after Lynn finally made her way outside with the huge-ass monster guy following behind her that Margie stepped away from the group. She went to a quiet corner of the yard, out of sight from the others, and people-watched. She glanced over at Nickels, who was talking with a group of people but was watching Lynn. Then she crossed her arms and shook her head as she watched Howie practically jumping out of his skin every time Tia moved.
With her by herself, he figured it wasn't going to get any better than that to go over and talk to her. He was on the opposite side of the yard than she was, so he skirted around the house, right under her nose until he was right behind her.
"Hey pumpkin, long time no see." He grinned.
Margie's shoulders stiffened as she shot around and jumped when she saw him. Her eyes traveled up and down his body, and damn if that didn't start getting him hard already, as her beautiful green eyes checked him out.
"What, you don't even have a Hi for me after all this time?" He chuckled at her stare of confusion.
The look that he was hoping for was far from what he got. The shocked look on her face said more than he wanted to know. "What are you doing here?" she finally asked when the shock of seeing him passed, and it now turned to something else.
"What, a guy can't come and see the woman he misses?"
"Are you saying you miss me, really?" she asked, baffled.
"Of course I miss you."
"Jones, we haven't seen each other in almost a year now. People move on, I've moved on."
"Yeah, I saw you had a date tonight."
"Yes, I'm dating someone and he's really sweet to me. So, hi, wish you didn't come, and goodbye." She sighed, getting ready to leave.
"Wait, I wanted to talk to you," he said, reaching out to stop her from leaving.
She tried to shake him off as she glared up at him. "What do you want from me, Jones?"
"I just wanted to see my girl..."
"I'm not your girl anymore."
"You'll always be my girl, Margie." But that confession didn't have the effect that he was hoping for.
