Jones
The next morning Jones turned over in the hotel bed with a groan. Sleeping alone wasn't what he had planned on. He really thought he'd have Margie's gorgeous ass back in his bed, and after a night of making love to her, would be back in her good graces. After that he'd planned on ordering room service with pancakes and hot chocolate, all the things his pumpkin loved, and tell her where he wanted their relationship to go next.
What he couldn't have imagined was sitting in the front room of a hotel suite, watching Howie mope around muttering under his breath.
"She's gone, man, fucking gone. I can't believe this," Howie kept repeating as he lit his fifth cigarette in a row.
Nickels poured himself another cup of coffee, getting annoyed by the continuous repetition of the words. "Damn it, Howie, we know she is okay," he finally growled as he opened cigarette pack number three.
Jones was thinking that Nick was still fuming under all the coolness he displayed, and especially after the show Lynn put on for him before she left. Lynn could always be very graphic when she wanted to stick it to Nickels, and last night she did just that.
Right before she got into the purple van, Nickels watched the biggest fucking man they'd ever seen make out with and dry hump Lynn against the side of the car. When she was happy with the performance and the eyeful that Nick got, she blew him a kiss with her middle finger before she drove off. He could only imagine what was running through Nick's mind all night, knowing there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it.
Howie glared over at Nickels as he stubbed out his smoke. "You don't know shit! I can't get her back; don't you get that? We're really fucking done, finished, over, man! Everything that I had planned for us is gone. I mean, I don't even know how to process this right now," Howie fumed.
"Just give it a rest for five minutes. Just so I can get a damn cup of coffee down me that doesn't lead to indigestion," Nickels groused.
But Howie shook his head. "You know, I should've just knocked her up. Then I wouldn't be sitting here without her right now. There would always be something in her life that would keep us together, and she'd always be mine."
"Man, have you gone off the deep end or something? Because what in the hell are you talking about?"
Howie left the window and slumped back into one of the chairs as his hands fell to the sides. "There was one night that Troy and me were talking, it was after all the shit went down with Jimmy, Mick and Addie. Troy told me that Mick knocked Addie up on purpose. He thought that was the perfect way to get her. Then Jimmy would have to give her the divorce and she would finally be his."
"Are you fucking with us? Mickey really did that to Addie?" Dax growled.
"Yeah, he did. And if she hadn't lost the baby, Mickey would've been in her life, and there wouldn't have been a damn thing Jimmy could've done about it. But you know after he told me that, I thought Mick was such a dick to do something so low, but now... I wish I would've done the same thing to Tia," Howie mumbled, running his hand over his face.
They were all quiet for a minute before Jones sighed, rubbing his hands through his long black hair as he bent over from where he sat. "Look, this might sound shitty of me, but I think you should go home, Howie. There's nothing you can do about what happened, it's over, man."
Howie remained quiet, so he continued. "And Dax, you came to Addie's wedding and she's accepted you back as a brother. I think you should head home with Howie and keep an eye on Jimmy too. I'm also thinking you should take Mindy home and work out your shit together. Because if you don't think Addie sees how you treated her, then you're wrong. And that might put a wedge in this friendship you want to form with her."
