Little Changes (Kageyama x Reader)

The Game

My alarm rings waking me up from my sleep. I do my usual of getting ready for the day. I enter the living room for my house and search of my bag. "Ah there it is." I quickly grabbed my bag and left the house, locking the door on my way out. The school isnt far from my house so I reach it fast. I find my class and enter trying not to grab any attention. Not long after the bell rings for class to being. I end up staring out the window watching birds fly by. "(Y/n)!" I wip my head around to see the teacher standing at my desk. "Day dreaming in class I see?" I stand up in mu chair and bow my head. "Im sorry sensei." I lift my head to see the whole class is staring at me, even Kageyama. "Don't let it happen again." He went back to teaching as I sat back down. Class went on as normal and eventually came to an end. Lunch wasn't anything special, I sat with Michimiya and some of her friends. "Are you excited for the game, (y/n)?" "Oh yes!" "Do you like volleyball?" "I dont hate it, I know a bit about it too." She nodded and went back to her seat, waving goodbye as lunch ended.

~~~AFTER SCHOOL~~~
Now time to find the gym. I wondered around searching before hearing some loud banging noises. Out of curiosity I checked it out. I open the large doors and find volleyballs being flown up and down. "Well I found the gym at least." I looked for Michimya hoping I wasn't alone. "Hey (Y/n)! Over here!" I turn and thankfully find her. "Hey!" I run up to her and she smiles friendly. "Here meet the Captin." I tall male with short brown hair came uo from behind her. "Hey there, Im Sawamura Daichi, glad you could be here." I bowed my head slightly. "Hello, Im (Y/n)." "Everyone come here!" Daichi yells for the other boys. There were all running over with confusion. "Everyone meet (Y/n), she came to cheer us on for the game." "H-hello It's nice to meet you all." There were only 2 of them that weren't hovering over me with height. Each one of them introduced themselves. "Hi!! Im Shoyo Hinata! Its nice to meet you." He came up to me full of energy. "Its nice to meet you too." A shadow soon came over both of us. We looked to see Kageyama watching us with a scary expression. "K-kageyama?" Hinata lookes just as scared as me. Out of no where Sugawara came up and hit the back of his head. "Dude! Shes new here don't look at her like that! You look like you're about to murder her." "Ah..oh im sorry but aren't you the one who was day dreaming earlier in class?" My heart sunk. I really hoped he wouldnt know it was me. I laughed nervously. "Yep thats me." Sugawara hits his head again. "Im so sorry about him, (Y/n)." I just smiled in response as they went back to practice.

As time passed the game was about to begin. Me and Michimiya watched from the bleachers. I was more exicted for this then I thought. I watched as both teams entered the court. "Looks like they're up against Nekoma." Michimiya stated. "Thank you for the game!" Both teams announced. And it began. Through the first half of the game the score was 19:17, with Karasuno in the lead. They were awesome! I cheered happily trying to give the team as much encouragement as possible. The game went on and the score began to change, 20:22, now Nekoma is winning. I could see that the team was loseing there spirit. Most of all Kageyama. I noticed how his movements went from thought-out and planned to desperate. I felt bad that I couldnt help at all..or could I? I leaned forward enough to almost fall of the bleachers. "(Y/n)?! What are you-" "You can do this Kageyama! You can win!" I didnt let her finish her sentence. I just yelled in hope to raise his spirits. Wait why him? What did i just do..? Once those words came out of my mouth, I ran. My face was bright red as I left the building. A good couple hours pass, but I'm still sitting outside. I couldnt go back there!. Not after what I said. "Im so stupid.." I mumble to myself. "You're not stupid." I quickly turn my head to see Kageyama. My eyes widden in shock. "Umh..I wanted to say thank you. Thanks to you we were able to win the game." Kageyama says while looking the other direction. "O-oh thats great! Im glad I was able to help." I was just barly able to speak over my cracked voice.

Kageyama looked me dead in the eyes. Is he mad? Shit he looks mad. I take a step back in fear. He then bowed slightly. "I-Im sorry..Would it be ok if I ask your name? I wasnt paying attention when everyone was being introduced.." He must have noticed ny actions. I lose my body in and smile. Actually I let out a small laugh. "Whats so funny?" Now standing straight he looks at me confused. "You're funny." I gave a friendly smile. He wasn't so bad after all. "So can I know-" "Im (y/n)." In the distance I spot Hinata running towards us. "Looks like it's time for you to go." He turns to his teammates direction. "I'll see you later okay?" "I'm sure you will, bye Kageyama." He starts walking back to his team. "Bye (Y/n).."

I went to find Michimiya talking to Daichi. "Hey ready to go?" She smiled at me. "See ya Daichi! Ok lets go."  Once back at the scholl we went our separate ways waving goodbye. "That was a good day." I make it home in no time, taking off my shoes as I enter the house. Quickly making it to my room I lay on my bed. "Kageyama..hm." He's interesting. Maybe we'll be friends?..nah i doubt that. Not long after sleep overwhelmed me.
