Little Changes (Kageyama x Reader)

Like Him?!

The next morning came quick as my alarm rang loudly. I get out of bed still sleepy. Once downstaris I see my mother making breakfast, normally shes at work so this came as a surprise. "Mom? What are you doing here?" I ask while lazily walking into the kitchen. "Its the weekend so my boss gave me a day off." "Oh well thats good." I sit down at a near by chair as the smell of eggs and bacon fill the room. "Do you have any plans today?" "I dont think- Ooh WAIT." I quickly remember yesterdays conversation with my friends. "Wait? Wait for what?" I left the kitchen with my moms question unanswered. I check my phone for the time being 7:50, just enough time to get ready. I change into casual clothes and run back downstaris. "Where are you going?" "Going out with friends, sorry Im gonna be late, bye!" I ran out the door quickly going to the train station. I finally reach the station and spot everyone there. "Im so sorry for being late!" They all turned there heads to me and snile friendly. "Dont worry about it." Michimiya says as she walks up to me. "Now lets go have some fun!"

We enter the bus and in no time make it to our destination. We all stand in front of the aquarium admiring the building. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Yachi grabs my hand and drags me into the building with Kiyoko and Michimiya following behide. As soon as we enter I can spot all different kinds of fish. Yachi and Michimiya find themselves by some octopuse and bigger fish while me and Kiyoko enjoy the smaller fish. "They're so cute." Kiyoko pointed a group of goldfish "Agreed!" We continued our small talk till running back into Michimiya and Yachi. By the look on there faces I could tell they were having fun. "Come over here, there's this really cool looking shark!" They lead us to the shark tanks and point that the Swordfish. "It does look really cool." We all explored the rest of the building admiring all the colorful animals to be seen. "How about we go get some food? I'll pay." I didn't realize the time and how hungry everyone was. "There's a good restaurant not far from here, we can go there." We all agreed happily and made our way to a nice looking steak place.

As I was sitting down I look up at everyone else, to my surprise all of them were looking at me intensely. "Whats wrong..?" They all gave each other a gance and a nod before smiling. "Sooo Kageyama huh?" Their question caught me off gard. "O-oh what about him?" After a long pause and some awkward looks Michimiya spoke up, "DO YOU LIKE HIM? ARE YOU TOO DATING?!" Michimiya yelled loud enough the whole restaurant could hear it. My face lit up in embrassment from both the question and her yelling. Yachi taps my shoulder and looks at me with sparkles in her eyes. "No..we're not dating." "Well do you like him?" Kiyokos question made my head hurt. Like him? I dont know if thats what I would call it. "Im not sure..Whenever he's around I feel really happy and he's always able to make me smile. We dont know much about each other though. I'm not even sure if he considers me a friend.." For some reason Kiyoko starts to laugh a bit. "Why are you laughing?" "Because your answer is so..cute. Of course you like him! We've seen the way you blush around him." "Shes right (y/n)! Not only that, but Kageyama hasn't been the same person since he met you." Yachis comment confused me, he didnt seem different. "What do you mean? I dont think his changed." "Well of course you havent noticed it. Whenever you're at practice he puts in his best efforts to win or get better." My mind travles back to all the practice Ive seen him do. He always seemed to be trying hard, but I never thought it'd be because of me. His face soon overwhelms my mind making my face heat up. "OH SHE'S BLUSHING!!" Michimiya immediately points out my red face making it even worse. "So you do like him?!" Kiyoko bring up the question again. "......maybe....." "Thats a yes." "W-what? Kiyoko no I said maybe." "And I said yes." "Ok yes! But that doesnt mean he likes he'll like me back.." Michimiya started to chuckle evily. "..what did you do..?" "I may have pressured Kageyama into realising his feeling for you." "You did what?! Omg..poor Kags.." "KAGS?"

The night went on with even more embrassing questions untill we eventully went home. I enter my house and head straight to my room, my mom had a late shift so she wasnt home to ask about anything. A slowly take out my phone and go on to messages, I take my time looking for his contact before entering the message.

(Y/n)"Hey Kags, I'm sorry about anything my friend's may have said to you. You dont have to listen to them lol"

And....sent. I take a deep breath out while trying to collect my thoughts. "Me..likeing Kageyama.." The thought sinks in as I learn to accept it, he probably doesnt like me.. Suddenly my phone rings telling me that he replied.

(Y/n) "Hey Kags, I'm sorry about anything my friend's may have said to you. You dont have to listen to them lol"

(Kageyama) "Oh dont worry about it. Actually what they said kinda helped me."

(Y/n) "Helped you how?"

(Kageyama) "You'll find out soon enough."

(Y/n) 😓

I dont understand what he means.."I'll find out soon enough?" Is that a good thing or bad thing? My mind wonders off and I end up falling asleep with a head full of thoughts.
