Little Changes (Kageyama x Reader)

Another Win

The game starts off strong, Karasuno in the lead. The Nekoma team really do have great members. The main setter, who I learn was named Kenma, is really smart and analyzes everything. Of course Kageyama is like that too. The first set was almost done with the scores being 23:20. I watched carefully at everyones movements. Normally I'm focused on the team or Kages, but this time both team are too intense to just look at one. It was Nekomas turn to serve, they had their ace, Yamamoto serve. He throw the ball in the air, jumped, and hit with full force. I watched as the ball flew down right into Nishnoyas view. He reseves the ball with ease. Kageyama now needed to serve ran towards the net. This was favorite part. The moment when he touchs the ball and calculates every moment, who to toss it to,  and how hard. The ball quickly came to his direction and he set the ball towards the energetic orange haired boy. I loved watching as the ball would meet the exact point it needed to be at.

The first set now won by Karasuno the boys took a break. I went down to met Kageyama. "Kages! You did great!" I ran down towards him and gave him a big hug. He patted my head in response. "T-Thank you." "(Y/n)! (Y/n)!!" Hinata comes running my direction. "How did I do? Did I do good?Can I have a head pat too?" I smiled at how energetic he was even after the match. "Of course Hinata, you did good too." I gave him a small head pat as he walked away happily. Suddenly arms were wrapped around my waist. "Don't do that.." Kageyama places his head on my shoulder and talked in a slow quiet voice. "D-do what..?" He put his mouth right next to my ear before talking. "Don't make me jealous.." His warm breath against my skin sent shivers down my spine. My face turned bright red, but I still turned to face him, yet no words could be spoken. "Boke your face is red."

The whistle alarmed the teams that the next set was starting. "G-Good luck Kageyama!" I ran back up to my spot and again watched the game play out letting the heat from my face realise. Nekoma was even more intense this round. They don't like to lose. It was Tsukishimas turn to serve. The ball went up and over the net like normal. Nekomas receiver, Yaku, got the ball to the setter. The setter watched everyones movements and..! It was a dump. The game now 3:1. "Stay focused guys!" Dachi tried his best to support the team. "Come on guys you got this!" I helped as well, Nekoma will not be lost too, at least not without a fight.

The game continued and the score began to change, 18:19. Nekomas defenses were strong, not to mention Kenma is very smart and knows how to trick the players. The ball was thrown in to Karsunos court and Noya rescued it while sending it to Kageyama. He stood underneath the ball ready to set. Who is he gonna set too? The ball grazed his fingers and within seconds the ball is in the air again. However this time it was different. All the players on the court ran toward the ball only for it to be spiked down by Hinata. Once again a perfect set! The game slowly ended with Karasuno winning. The team was extremely tired afterwards though. "Good job Kageyama! Good job everyone!" I helped hand out water bottles to the members. "Not to bad crows." Dachi ross his head up to met the roaster haired captin, Kuroo. "I'd say the same for you." They shook hands with a weirdly angery vibe. "Untill next time." "Right!" Their conversation ended short and the team began to exit the gym. I run up to Kages who was mid-yawn. "KA-GE-YAMA!!" I ran up and gave him a gaint hug from the back. "Oof- ah (y/n)." "You did great today." He paused before answering. "But we lost." "So what? Sure its sad, but that just means theres more room to grow." He gave me a pat on my head and a small smile. "Thanks boke." We entered the bus and everyone starts to drift to sleep.
