Marcy's feet pounded against the stone floor as she ran along the hallways of the castle. Just another five steps.
Five steps, and she would be free from the curse, from the evil that had surrounded her since birth.
They'd made her do terrible things, take so many innocent lives. Their blood ran through heir veins now.
Marcy felt it pumping through her heart, energising her for those last several metres till the opening.
For so long she'd dreamt of this moment and finally all her worries would disappear forever.
She would be cleansed of the impurities, freed from vile monster living inside of her.
What would life be like without her alter ego constantly urging her to kill?
Without the guards controlling her every move and breath and those awful chains?
Marcy was so close now, she could see the blue skies above.
Four steps and her life could begin anew, worthless to sorcery.
They would not dare come after her into the light.
It was reserved for the good, the purest hearts.
And Marcy had a pure heart, didn't she?
She'd kept it safe from the killings.
Now it pulsed in her hands.
It'd clean her of impurities.
Just one more step.
Into the light.
The monster's
Born.
