Chapter 4 - Hardships

A cold breeze blew. She slowly walked towards me and spoke with a cold expression.

"I see, You're still alive."

I scratched my head and slightly smile, making myself looked fine. "It was just a luck. I'm more surprised that you survived. I wonder..."

Then my body... 'damn! I'm at my limit!' suddenly collapsed.

My consciousness still within me but it's already a bit foggy. I felt Inoue-san moving my body to her lap.

And said, "I won't let you die." with a pleasant smile on her face.

I can't remember what happened after that, I just thought that maybe I'm already dead or just having a long dream. All I can see was darkness.

While I'm having a time in that dark comfy place by myself, I heard a sound of the door being opened and several times being closed. Also, I heard a sound of water being poured over and voices that were familiar to me not so long ago.

The darkness started to fade away and turned into a white.

Suddenly a girl, sitting beside me gasped and loudly saying my name, "Hey! Can you hear me? Hey!"

"Where am I?" My vision was still spinning and can't see things clearly.

"We were in your room. Don't you remember?"

I tried to wipe my eyes and started to look at the surroundings. "I see, It really was."

"Masato-san carried you here when you collapsed. Oh! Did you need anything?"

"Water... I'm thirsty."

"Ok." She stood up and poured some water from the pitcher placed at the table. While looking at her, I suddenly remember her name. That old butler called her...

"Kaori-san... Right?"

"Ah Yes? How did you know my name?"

"That old butler called you that last time. Is it ok to call you by your name?"

"I guess it's ok. I'm Origi Kaori by the way. You?"

"Kuro... Kuronuma Tadashi"

"Oh... So, what is it?"

She helped me to sit then gave me the water. Before I ask her everything, I drank the water to smoothen my dry throat. I looked at the window and saw the sun was almost half way through the day.

"How many hours since I collapsed?"

"Not hours but days."

"Days? How many days?!"

"3 and a half. It's already afternoon." She bowed her head with a sad expression and told me everything.

"After that cold midnight, you collapsed. Milady alerted everyone and Masato-san brought you here. The doctor also came to checked both you and milady."

"What happened to her by the way?"

"She's fine and already in good condition since yesterday." She smiled with a relief written on her face.

'She's really worried about her huh.'

"Thanks to the antidote that milady had, you both were save from the poison. But even though, the doctor struggled so much to save you. She even said that there's only a little chance that you might live because of the blood you loss. Luckily, me, milady and you were have the same type of blood!" She giggled.

"Did you two... just?"

She nodded. "Milady and I gave blood to helped you to recover. It's really no big deal to me gave mine but milady... I can definitely tell that she had faith in you that time."
