Jason McGuire, (Dennis Patrick), right in the media section, would team up with Willie Loomis, (John Karlen), to scam people in Collinwood, Maine, (and overseas); McGuire would later convince Paul Stoddard, (Joel Fabiani), to leave Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, (Joan Bennett), which was the cause of her to not leave Collinwood Manor.
And Episode 26 of 'Dark Shadows', in which David Collins steals the valve from Victoria Winter's dresser...when she talks to Elizabeth about the truth about Roger Collins' car accident.

He savored the taste at the Blue Whale.
Maggie Evans smiled at him.
"I'd like to order some steak, and a coffee please, Maggie?", he asked her.
"Is that all?".
"Yes, and apple pie".
"That's the House Special".
"Sounds good to me, Maggie. Got some business to take care of".
"With Willie".
"Yes, got to do what is necessary".
"You don't want to do anything...".
"Don't worry, Maggie. Like you're worried about your father".
"My father is...".
And she didn't finish, as she concentrated on the job of serving one of Collinspoint's most notorious figures, who was sitting at the bar alone.
