Leafy's P.O.V

It was awkward; sitting in a void with the object who betrayed me sobbing in the distance. Firey muttered a few things about Needle and Coiny, and even mentioned Eggy once. I didn't know where this attitude came from. I expected him to have no sympathy for me. I tried looking away but my eyes were forced back. I guess he knew how I felt at the moment, he made no eye contact with me either. I was inside myself, so every tear that fell from his cheeks and onto the floor burned my insides a little, but I tried to hide it.

I tried to walk further until suddenly, Bow appeared and waved her finger as she smiled.

'What is it now..?' I reluctantly asked the ghost, tired of her meddling in everything.

'Well look behind you!' She said, pointing her finger behind me. I looked in that direction and Firey seemed to have stopped crying, but was rather cuddled in a ball rocking back and forth.

'Listen, Leafy. I know you feel betrayed and hurt, but he didn't understand how you felt then. Think about what you overheard from Taco when the ground was filled with lava. She didn't know how to feel about Book saving her, but they're friends now! Make the right choice.'

I took one look at the wilted flower and that was all it took. I nodded to Bow and smiled, watching her disappear. I walked up to Firey and tried to hide the pain from my burnt insides. He looked back up at me and turned his attention to the floor again. I sat next to him and tried to start a conversation, but the words forced themselves back down my throat.

Firey must've once again understood my awkward situation. He looked at me and gave a small smile, and it was enough for me to build of the confidence to say something.

'Hey, Firey..' I muttered.

He looked at me and started to tear up a little, once again.

'O-Oh, I thought you weren't gonna talk to me,' he said to me. I let out a slight chuckle.

'Look, I understand how you feel, I guess I could.. give you a second chance,' I whispered with a break to think about whether or not I should.

All Firey did was smile at me reassuringly. He held my hand and we both started to laugh a little. I looked at the rose in the distance and Firey soon turned his attention to it. His eyes widened at the first glance. It was more radiant and elegant than ever. We could smell the same scent as from the garden, the rose was in full bloom.

'Is.. Is that-' Firey began.

'The rose from that field when we were younger? Yep!' I beamed at him. He slowly walked towards it. I tailed behind. It seemed to glow of orange and green spiralling around the neon red flower. He stroked its petals and, for some reason, he didn't burn the flower and it felt more warm than ever. How did I know? Same time, I felt a warm glow in my heart as he did. It was awkward yet I said nothing and let him enjoy the moment. It was getting a little boring, so I had to pull him off of it.

'Hey, I'm not done! Let me go!' Firey laughed as I attempted to hold his hands behind his back. I quietly giggled along. It was nice to finally laugh about something with Firey after what has happened between us.

We sat down and I had to explain to him what I've been up to this whole time, followed with many apologies and pity tears.

'Wow, you've been doing much better than everyone outside, it's been chaos out there!' he pointed out.

'Then again,' I modestly replied, 'I was the one who started this chaos, my suffering was not over until I fixed it. It was never anyone else's journey, but rather mine.'
