AU: Louis is a high school student in a foster home in a small town.

Louis sat at his computer desk, editing away at the photos he had taken of the boy's basketball practice for the school yearbook. Photography was always his escape, and with the news that his mother passed away a month ago, still haunting him, he needed all the escape he could get. He goes on to tag the players in the action shot. He knew almost everyone at school because of this, he knew all of the jocks, art nerds, chess club members, even the students that weren't involved in anything. He heard a soft knock at his bedroom door. "Come in" he stuttered and cleared his throat. He turned to see Helen's smiling face. At first he hated living in this house with his foster parents, Helen was strict and scary, her being a police officer and all. But he soon realized that this is the family he has, and learned to accept them, just as they learned to accept him. "Just wanted to come in and say goodnight" Helen said in her gentle voice, she saved her harsh police officer voice for special occasions only, like when she would find Harry trying to sneak into Louis' room, and when she caught Louis trying to sneak out to go see Harry. "Okay goodnight" Louis huffed, he just wanted to finish these photos so he could go to sleep. Helen gave her soft smile and left the door cracked open just slightly, which annoyed the shit out of the teenage boy.

Louis' eyes started to feel sleepy and droopy, he starts to doze off. Which he is rudely interrupted again by another knock, this time not at his door. He realized that the sound was coming from his window, he looked over and saw a dark figure standing there. Freaked out at first, the figure removed his hood and revealed curly hair that could only belong to his one and only Harry. A smile instantly took over his face, blushing at the thought of Harry risking getting caught by his mother, and even worse Helen so he could see Louis. He makes his way towards the window, unable to get the grin off his face. He slowly opens it, making sure to be at quiet as possible. "What's the password?" He whispers, still grinning of course. Harry shakes his head and giggles, pulling Louis in for a passionate kiss. Kissing Harry was the younger boy's favorite thing, he felt that their lips fit perfectly together, like they were made for each other. Harry maneuvered his long legs and lengthy body into the bedroom, making sure to not make any noise. He shudders at the thought of getting caught by Helen, scary shit.

The boys did this almost every other night, Harry would come over at the same time every night, after everyone was asleep so the boys could sleep while holding each other. The boys swore they had the best nights sleep when together. Sometimes the boys did more than just sleep, when Louis is feeling insecure, Harry makes sure to take care of him and make him feel beautiful. And when Harry is having a hard time at home with his step-dad, Louis does his best to make Harry feel better, in the most intimate way he knew how. Or simply because both boys wanted to, they needed each other in that way. Louis didn't think it was one of those nights where Harry needed him, but soon realized he was wrong.

The evening was soon going to turn into the early hours of the morning, so Louis dragged Harry into his bed, whispering sweet nothings into the taller boys ear as he wanted to drift off into sleep, Harry had very different ideas. "I'm not sleepy" Harry mumbles as he runs his hands up and down his boyfriend's back. "Well we could watch a movie? Just until you get sleepy." Louis suggested. "Mmm okay, I guess." "What would you like to watch?" Louis asked turning on the small lamp on the nightstand, grabbing the remote, and going to Netflix. "Um, turn on whatever you want to watch, I'll be occupied with other things." Harry whispered as he kissed down Louis' body. "Uh...  what.. oh." Louis stuttered, then turned into a slight moan. He clicked a random movie, then his hands were occupied with Harry's hair.

Their shadows danced along the wall, beautiful shadows that only they could see, doing actions only they could share. Maybe their intimate moments weren't ideal to most people, having to be quiet because parents were just down the hall, but it was what they were given, and they will take any beautiful moments they could get.

As the sun rose, Helen looked at her foster son wrapped in the arms of another boy she has grown very fond it. Slightly annoyed that Harry snuck in once again, she slipped out of the bedroom door, not wanting to wake them too early on a Saturday morning. She sighed and walked into the kitchen to make her coffee, looking out the window at the dogs in the yard. Wow, life was pretty damn great.
