AN: Yes I've done something very similar to this before but the song really fits the story and we didn't receive it until very recently.

Louis fiddled nervously with the collar of his shirt. It was Friday which meant it was his and Harry's date night. Let's rewind- Harry and Louis have been officially dating for about 6 months. Their dynamic was very cliche, Harry was a theater nerd while Louis played football. Now, back to why Louis was so nervous; tonight was the night Louis was going to tell Harry he loved him.

Louis didn't believe in love at first sight until he met Harry. Louis moved to Holmes Chapel this past year, his mother got remarried which meant he had to move. He wasn't upset, he had no issue making new friends and trying new things.

They first ran into each other in the hallway- another cliche. Both stuttering messes, fixing their hair, blushing, the whole nine yards. It wasn't until almost a month later that Louis got Harry's number from a mutual friend and had the balls to send the text.

To Harry: Hi, I'm Louis Tomlinson. I hope this isn't weird or creepy, I got your number from Taylor.

To Louis: Hi, ah Louis. The famous football player with the pretty blue eyes?

To Harry: Ah cheeky, I like it :)

They texted for another week before Louis asked Harry out, they got ice cream after one of Louis' football games. It was Harry's first school sporting event. They ate ice cream, walked to a nearby park and talked about everything. Harry even tried to make up stories behind the fake constellations he was pointing at. Louis of course replied with "cheeky" and a soft giggle. They liked to make each other laugh. They also kissed that night.

Everyone at school was chill about it, no one hated on them or made fun of them in anyway. Harry and Louis were very fortunate they went to an accepting and progressive school. The school was bigger than other schools in the surrounding areas so if there were any homophobes they went unnoticed by the pair.

That takes us here, 5 months later. Harry was cooking dinner in his kitchen, waiting for Louis to arrive. They normally would go out for their dates: walks in the gardens, films, fancy dinners and sometimes even fast food. They didn't care what they did, as long as they were together. But tonight was a special night, so it needed to be a special date.

The knock on the door interrupted all of Harry's fond thoughts about his boyfriend and how excited he was for tonight. Yes they had date night every Friday night but he was always excited to see his man. Louis on the other hand, was a nervous wreck. Only anxiety and uncertainty invading his thoughts. He was very confident he loved Harry, but would Harry feel the same?

All of Louis nerves faded away as soon as he saw the younger boy's smiling face and his dimples pop out, the left deeper than his right. (Side note: I actually melt over Harry's dimples, they make me cry.) "Hey boo bear" Louis only lets Harry and his mom call him that, he hates the nick name otherwise. Harry engulfs Louis in a big hug, wrapping his arms around the base of his neck; tight enough to reach around and grab his elbows, this is Louis' favorite way Harry hugs him.

"I hope you're hungry, I made tacos, our favorite" this was the first meal Harry cooked for them months ago. Harry motions them to go to the kitchen, now Louis gets a good look at what Harry is wearing: dark wash blue jeans with a navy button up that is littered with white hearts. Louis felt he could wear anything and still could never compare to Harry, he wore his classic red jeans and a white shirt with navy strips across the upper chest.

Harry is finishing up cutting the tomatoes and shredding the lettuce as Louis simply observes. He finds cooking very attractive, let me rephrase- he finds Harry's cooking very attractive. After a few minutes Harry motions Louis to sit down, all of Louis' nerves come rushing back. He remembers what he is going to tell Harry tonight and he feels his throat become dry and his palms dampen. Harry takes notice of his sudden mood change but doesn't vocalize it.

"The tacos are amazing Hazza" Harry blushes, he blushes at every compliment that he receives from his boyfriend. Louis continues to shovel food in his mouth; if he keeps his mouth occupied, he won't have to say it. Harry takes notice in his behavior yet again, "Lou, what's going on? Are you okay?" This is it, he can't hold back anymore.

"Harry I love you, I love you so much and I've spent so much time planning how to tell you perfectly but I just can't think of a good way so I'm just gonna say it. I love you. I love your smile, your dimples, your hair, your kindness, your compassion, how good you are with my siblings, your dedication to school, your bum, I just love all of you. I hope you love me too, it's okay if you don't and this is moving too fast. I just needed you to know."

Both Louis and Harry weren't aware Louis could talk that fast. Harry didn't let any silence follow Louis' confession, he knew what he wanted to say. "I love you Lou, I've loved you for a long time. I didn't say anything because I was insecure and didn't know if you felt the same. You're older and more experienced in everything. It feels as if a huge weight has been lifted. I love you Louis."

Louis abruptly stands from his seat and makes his way around the table to his younger boyfriend. He guides him up and places his lips against his own. Louis has always described Harry's lips as soft, supple, and sweet. The two boys get lost in the feeling of each other. Their lips never leave each other as Harry's hands run themselves through Louis' soft hair and Louis rests his hands on Harry's bum.

They pull away breathless, I know that sounds incredibly cheesy but there was no other way to describe the kiss after they told each other they loved each other for the first time. A soft giggle left Harry's mouth, which caused Louis to do the same. The boys were both the happiest they've ever been in that moment.

Author's Note:                                                                                                                                                                         I spent a weekend in my home town for the first time since I moved into university and it was not fun, my mental health is 100x better when I'm away from my family. It's a sad reality.                 - Abby <3
