The Unwanted Guest

It was now time for them to all head home. Libertus and Crowe had left the other night, and Raya and Nyx were saying their goodbye. "You make sure you come visit. Please keep my brother safe."Selena then turned to her brother. "You do anything to hurt her, and I will come to Insomnia to kill you." Raya couldn't help but smile.

Nyx's mom came over and hugged Raya as well. "Be safe out there. Both of you call me some times." They both say they will and get in the car to leave. "Oh, Raya, this is for you, dear. Welcome to the family." Next, mom hands her a basket with Galahad coffee and whiskey in it.

Raya smiles at her "Thank you, ma. I won't tell Crowe, or I may have to come back just for whatever meds you gave me." The older lady laughed. "There's some in there already just in case." Raya started laughing.

Once they got off the boat, Nyx could tell she was a bit nervous. "Hey, we're not due back till the morning. So I know what we can do with that spare time." He kissed her when she looked up at him. "Yeah, what's that?" she asked. "Easy, move in with me." They had been walking up the stairs and were now at her door. "Are you sure, Nyx?" He pulled her into his arms and kissed her again. "Never been more sure of anything else."

Raya unlocked her door. "Okay," she says, walking into her place. "Hello, sister." She froze then slowly turned to see her brother sitting in the chair by the window. She took a step back when she felt Nyx right behind her. "Paul, what are you doing here?"

Raya finally said, her hand resting on the hilt of her weapon. Nyx had his hand on her waist. "Paul, you need to leave. You can't be here. As a member of the kingsglaive, I will take you in for our parent's murder." She was not going to show him her fear. Paul stood up, slamming his fist on the wall. Nyx felt her flinch but stand her ground.

Raya had enough and walked over to him. "Leave now, Paul, or I will take your sorry ass in. This is your last warning." Before anyone could respond, the man had grabbed her by the neck, slamming her to the ground. Nyx went to go to her till he heard her. "No, Nyx." He stopped in his tracks.

Raya took her weapon and swang at her brother, who moved just as fast as her. She stood up when paul came at her punching her. She looked at him and spat out the blood in her mouth. Nyx saw the fire burning in her eyes. "Paul, you're getting weaker," she said with a smile that sent chills down Nyx's spine.

Paul looked at her closely when he saw her hair and then looked at Nyx. "So, you became a Galahad whore now." Raya moved fast. "Don't ever talk about my family like that. His family has shown me more kindness then you ever have." Raya kicked the man in the side and was getting ready to do it again when Paul grabbed her leg and slammed her down once more.

Raya felt the air leave her. Paul was quickly on top of her. Her sight dimming when she warped to her kukri. Nyx had seen enough and ran to her. Pulling her into his arms as she tries to catch her breath. "Enjoy your time, sister. That can't be cured with potions or antidotes. Happy birthday."

Raya watched him leave then looked down at her side. "Nyx," she tried to stand up. "Hey, baby, wait, let me see." Her breathing was fast. Nyx pulled out his phone.

Nyx: Capt. Raya's been poisoned with some entirely new poison.

Drautos: Damn, didn't you, too, just get back? Who did she piss off now?

Nyx: Her brother is my guess

Drautos: She has a brother. Damn, okay, bring her here.

Nyx: OMW

Nyx picked her up and ran down to Libertus's place. "Libertus, open the door and give me your keys NOW." Libertus opened his door and looked at his two friends. "I will drive you to focus on her hero."

Five minutes later had them in Drautos's office. Raya was now awake and leaning on Nyx as they listened to there capt. "It's a new poison, and no, we can't cure it, but we can manage it. You will still be able to work and be deployed, and all that you will just have to take these every morning." Drautos handed her a bottle.

The three friends were walking out and back home. Nyx opened his door, and she walked in. "Nyx, I'm gonna take a nap for a bit, okay." He kissed her and helped her take her shoes off. "Rest starlight." she was asleep as soon as her head hit his pillow.

"Rise and shine Starlight." she opened her eyes to Nyx with a travel mug of coffee. "Since when are you a morning person. Wait, are we about to be deployed?" He nods. "Thank the six I need to kill something."
