Broken Promises

Day 2 - shower

That night, none of them fell asleep. Soonyoung tossed and turned in his bed while a movie of regret played in Yuni's mind.

"Good morning, rough time sleeping?"

Mae asked,

"did something spicy happen yesterday?"

The doctor nodded,

"I held his hand"

Just barely slapping Yuni's coffee into the air Mae jumped in excitement,

"So you DO like him!"

Yuni shushes Mae to try and keep her from saying more than she needs.

"I was comforting him, that was the only thing!"

There was no point in stopping Mae from yelling.

"I TOLD YOU, HE LIKES YOU! Forget about Dr.Kim, I feel like there's something sketchy behind his all too perfect aura."

Hesitantly, her unnie's cheeks began to turn pink as a spring rose.

"I can't just stop a three-year-long crush as soon as a new patient comes into my life. It's also against protocol to date a patient." Mae rolled her eyes, "You know dating a coworker is also against protocol?"

Yuni stood up, "Ugh, forget about it, I have to discuss his scan results with him."

Before entering the room, Yuni knocked. A groggy Soonyoung was still in bed, shirtless.

"Ah...good morning princess."

Yuni turned around as quickly as she could, "Soonyoung, cover that up please."

Soonyoung giggled as he pulled a whisper of fabric over her head. "Aren't you like... A doctor though? This shouldn't be the first time you've seen a man shirtless."

Once again, Yuni felt her face heat up as she managed to choke on some air.

" You are a doctor, RIGHT?"

The doctor takes a moment to compose herself,

"I'm here with the results of your scans."

Soonyoung's face dropped, "I hope it's nothing serious."

Yuni nodded, showing the scans to her patient, "It does look like you broke your number 7 rib. It will heal within a week or even faster, so make sure you take all your meds and rest properly."

He clasped his hands together, "Awe, princess cares so much about her little Hoshi!"

Yuni felt her cheeks become red again "w..who?",

"Sorry, didn't mean to make you flustered."

Mae came into the room with some shower supplies, "Reminder that Mr.Kwon is due for a shower, I can assist him in about 10 minutes." Simultaneously they turn towards Soonyoung. "I might have to remind everyone that I'm not accepting anything unless it's care from Dr.Chang."

Mae was about to abject but Yuni patted her on her shoulder, "If it's gonna be like this from now on, I guess I'll do it."

The fellow nurse pulled her aside, "I get it Yuni, you don't wanna give me trouble but you've never helped a patient in the showers like...ever."

Yuni knew what Mae was saying was right but she did have some experience while in med school. "He will only cooperate with me and I don't want him to give you a hard time." "I owe you one," Mae said with a quiet giggle and a wink, "don't have too much fun though."

Once Mae was out, Yuni got the water ready. "I can step out for a second if you want me to..." Soonyoung was already halfway naked, causing Yuni's jaw to drop,

"Stop ogling me, doc, I need a shower."

Snap out of it!

"Y-ya...of course, I'll just have to apply something to your side first." Yuni applied a protective waterproof barrier to Soonyoung's side where the gash was and assisted him into the shower.

"I can handle it from here princess." The doctor was relieved, she did not want to be tempted by him again.

"Sure, call me when you're done and then we can clean your wounds."

After about ten minutes of waiting, Soonyoung finally called out that he was finished. "I'm coming in now!"

Inside was a fluffy looking Soonyoung with a towel wrapped loosely around his waist. "I have to clean your wounds now..."

Cleaning wounds were always Yuni's most disliked moments. Hearing Soonyoung whimpering was one of the saddest noises she had ever heard.

"Ow...it hurts."

Yuni tried to be quicker,

"Just a little bit more and you're done."

A pile of bloody bandages and half a tube of antiseptic was finished, Soonyoung was ready to take his nap.

"Thanks, princess...I just remembered that valentine's day is two days from now....."

Her eyebrow lifted in realization,

"I must've been so busy, I lost track of time."

His iconic smirk appeared once more,

"Has anyone caught your eye?"

Without hesitation, Yuni nodded,

"Indeed I have someone in mind..."

Soonyoung couldn't help but smile and close his eyes, pulling the blanket up to his chin.

"Rest up,"

Soonyoung had fallen asleep.
