Crush - Taekook

Chapter - 13

Jungkook wasn't at the library when they arrived after their 1st two classes and decided to go to the library for project purpose ofcourse. Taehyung had known it would be Yoongi behind the librarian's desk as the two of them had swapped shifts once more, but he had thought the younger  might be there to study atleast. His absence made Taehyung feel uncomfortable. 

He was so used to the sight of Jungkook in the huge room that it didn't seem right without him. He pushed this thought away and concentrated on his homework.

Despite his lack of sleep, He and Jimin managed to finish his homework for the weekend before hunger started to make them unfocused. His friend's watch beeped to announce noon when Jimin closed his book and sighed. "And now, we're finally done!"

"I can't wait for the Christmas holidays so I can breathe some freedom without this college and shit" Taehyung grumbled putting the encyclopaedia they had used back on a shelf.

"Well, you aren't the only one. Now Come one, let's go to yours, order some pizza and watch movies." Jimin said cracking his sore muscles And since Taehyung didn't have a better idea, he agreed.

An hour later, the two of them were seated on Taehyung's' couch (well, the second bed in his dorm room), eating pizza and watching some action movies Jimin had picked out for them.

Jimin has announced that he will not leave his soulmate alone to mope around today, even if it meant having to go for a run with him although Jimin was more of a weight-lifter and dancing guy and not particularly fond of outdoor sports and been selecting all the action movies  to distract his friend from his thoughts. So far, it was working.

The two of them were laughing at unrealistic stunts and stupid lines, and Taehyung felt just like he always did with his best friend carefree and happy.

Their afternoon passed quickly with the help of two movies, three pizzas, twenty-seven Youtube videos, and a mini fight Over doughnuts (which Jimin won obviously) and countless stories of Jimin's late meet up with Yoongi disasters, causing Taehyung to cry with laughter.

They didn't talk about Jungkook and even though Taehyung could never entirely forget him, like a dull ache in his heart, he was trying hard to suppress the pain and even succeeding over longer periods of time.

Jimin asked Taehyung's advice over "Yhe Yoongi Situation", as he called it which, really wasn't much of a situation yet, as Jimin insisted. Taehyung promised to try to get him to join them for a coffee break some time, causing his friend's face to light up with delight. By then, it was about quarter past eight, and Taehyung was beginning to fidget around.

"Alright, Taehyungie, let's clean up our mess". There were popcorn everywhere from a massive popcorn fight as the two of them tried to re-enacted an action scene from a Marvel movie  "and then get you over to the library."

"Yeah", Taehyung agreed and they busied themselves cleaning the floor, throwing trash out.

Jimin insisted on accompanying Taehyung over to the library and wouldn't listen to his protests. "I won't go in, anyway, I just want to make sure you really do it without chickening out in the last  minute", his friend said, and his words sounded final. So they put on their coats and walked the short way to campus and then across the yards to the library building. The air was cold, but it wasn't raining, and the snow that had fallen mere days earlier was gone.

"Alright", Jimin said when they were standing in front of their destination. "Good luck, Tae" He patted Taehyung's shoulder. "Text me later."

"I will", Taehyung promised and smiled a tiny smile before turning around and entering the building. It was five minutes before 8PM.

Taehyung didn't know what to do, so he was Just mindlessly walking in the library Lobby. The place seemed deserted not a single student came out of the library, getting ready to leave.

'Poor Jungkookie' Taehyung thought. 'It must be boring to be stuck behind that desk for no good reason.'

10 minutes past 8PM. Still nothing. He shouldn't have been surprised, after all who wanted to study on a Friday night, On a weekend, People wanted to go out, have fun, not sit around a smelly library.

11minutes past to 8PM. Smelly? The library usually smelled like wood and books and HOME atleast Taehyung thought so. But, Not today. Taehyung coughed slightly. It was stuffy in here, and this was only the lobby. He turned around, looking at the gaint entrance for the first time since he had come in. The doors, which were usually with wood colour (idk it's even a colour but brown I guess) appeared grey-black and orange now, as if they had been coloured. But the colour was moving.

Smoke.

Flames.

Fire.

Taehyung cursed himself. How could he not have noticed the Smokey smell  in the Air here? The library was on fire! He ran to the exit, pulling out his phone, ready to get away from the danger and call the whole fire brigade - when he stopped dead in his tracks.

Jungkook was in there, most likely alone. And the library was burning.

Shit.
