I slammed into the man, full force and threw all three of us in the back of the van. He was knocked out cold and my head spun violently from hitting the metal lining the van's insides. Stars began swirling through my vision making it hard to focus on anything before me. The bright lights and moving walls were making it hard to get on my feet. I shook some of the dizzy off in time for the van doors to shut throwing us into complete darkness. Talon's breathing was even and deep. The man I ran into was the same. Both were fine, unfortunately for one of them. And I was pissed. Talon was tucked under my body in seconds. We are trapped, but he was safe for the moment. The van started; the ground moving was my only clue that we were in motion.

Soundproof the van was sound proofed. My body shook violently as my fear rose. I checked Talons breathing and temperature as many times as I could. The rest of my time was spent on high alert for any movement from the man stuck in here with us or any doors opening. The oils from dirty hands smeared all over the entrances of the van. Positioning myself and Talon was easy. There are only two doors and the dude I slammed into was thrown close to the biggest ones at the back of the bus.

The fear racking my body had plenty of time to circulate out. I never relaxed there where too many possibilities of what could happen in this van. The only one I knew they would not do is use lethal gas, not as long as I had a prisoner... It felt like we were in that van for the better part of a day. It could have been just a few hours. The man who took Talon woke up and scooted away from us. The scraping of his boots against the cloth floor was a dead give away that he had come to.

I could hear his even breaths in the far corner by one of the doors. No doubt ready to make a run for it when they open. "The boy still asleep?" He asked concern laced in his voice. I growled deep in my throat. The sound vibrated my whole body. Talon stirred but curled back into my belly wrapping his arms as far around me as possible. "Allen's been looking for you for a while." He said ignoring my growls. "I guess many people have. It's not every day a child is abducted from a pack. We don't plan on harming you or the boy. I understand that is a major concern for you right now. I promise we just want to do what is right for everyone involved."

"I would tell you that you are free to leave as you please, but that child is not." He said firmly. "You understand that he needs to be protected more than anyone." The van door opened, and the man made his way out. He was middle aged, with graying hair, green eyes, and a wrinkling face. His muscled thin frame reminded me of a soldier. But the way he crawled out of the van made him seem younger than he appeared. I took pride at the wince of pain on his face as he moved. He kept his hand on his side as if bracing his ribs. At least I hurt him.

"Back left corner." He said to someone. "The child is under her belly. So be careful." The door opened wider revealing a swat team of dog catchers. They looked to be armed with tranquilizers, wire leads, and bullet proof padding down their arms, chest and legs. "Ok sweetheart," an older man said, pulling my attention. He did not have the helmet on or the bullet proof vest on. His sharp green eyes told me he was the one calling the shots. The one to kill. "Are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?"

I kept my position not giving away my answer. "Let me break it down for you. The easy way is you hop out of this truck and we let you follow the kid to where you will be staying 'till we figure out what to do next." He paused surveying me carefully, "or we can do it my way. I can take you out of the truck by force. It'll traumatize the kid. You'll most likely get shot with a sleepy-time dart. Then you will wake up where you're going to stay until we figure out what to do next. Either scenario ends the same." He glanced at a few men and exchanged confidant smiles. I shot out at him, aiming for his neck as soon as his eyes locked with another male in full armor.

He locked my head in his arms and had me pinned under him. A surprised yelp escaped my lips. Two others joined him to help pin me down. They had done this before...

"I was hoping you would take the bait." He said as he struggled to keep his grip. I eyed his fingers, they are dangerously close to my mouth and looked like the perfect thing to grab onto. "I didn't want to scare the little one more than I had to." I snapped at his face when I felt his breath closer to mine than I was comfortable with. He cried out when my teeth grazed his ear.

"Anytime doc." He snarled at someone. "She will need a blanket if I inject her." A female voice snapped. Someone pinched the skin behind my neck. I jerked in his hands. The men held me like iron shackles held a prisoner. It did not stop the sharp prick of the needle from getting under my skin. Cool liquid shot into my body making it too heavy to fight. "There we go." The girl said softly. "Is the child still asleep?" I growled deep in my chest at the mention of Talon.

"Don't worry, we are not going to hurt him." The man holding me down said before rolling off me. I couldn't hold up my head, move my legs, or stop my body from reverting to human form. Whatever they had in that drug completely incompassitated me to nothing. I was wrapped in a blanket before my transformation was finished. The hard ground was cold under my bare skin but the blanket helped trap some heat from my body.

"Hello Katy." He said pushing my hair out of my face. His southern accent trilled my name. I spit in his face, he wiped my saliva off his cheek and kept the sly smile on his face. "Not my first rodeo sweetheart."

"Someone get her off of the ground." I strained to find Talon, but the shadows at the edges of my vision closed in fast. Someone gathered me in their arms. My head rested on their chest as sleep took me. I didn't want to fall. I wanted to get Talon, we had to escape. He was in danger. They could keep me but they can't harm him. Talon had to survive.

"Mommy wake up." Talon screamed, shaking my arm. The drugs are still coursing through my body. "Talli." I mumbled through my cracked lips. He cuddled into me, his small body shaking, "you wouldn't get up." I held him close to me as I fought through the waves of sleep that were washing over me. "Talli are you ok?" I asked him. He nodded, "they gave me cookies." I chuckled, "stay with me." I fell back into darkness. The light I wanted to keep was never going to stay. Neither was Talon, he was pulled from my grip as soon as I was mostly passed out.

I dreamed that Talon was locked in a room. His screams echoed in my head, but they had no origin. I screamed for him, running through the halls, opening doors, and searching. He was nowhere to be found, but his screaming in my head made it ache. I cursed, flipping over blankets, pillows, chairs and a table. He was nowhere to be found.

I screamed his name, but he never came. The dream kept coming back, the same house, the same screams, the same table, chairs, blankets and pillows. But no Talon. It was a nightmare and all I wanted was to wake up. Talon's screeching tore my heart into pieces and all I wanted was to hold him in my arms.

I sat up quickly as vomit raced up my throat. The bathroom door was open and I ran to it. My body was so weak. I held onto the toilet to keep myself stable until I stopped relieving my stomach of acid, there was nothing left in it.

The wall felt good against my hot body. My stomach ached as if it had not been fed in a few days. All the meds they had been pumping into me had either worn off or they could not give me more because it would kill me. My head spun violently pulling more bile from my stomach. I wanted to scream at it that it was empty, but it wouldn't matter. Sometimes all I could do was throw up, or pass out. I was getting tired of being captured in different packs. This was the third one, and the biggest we encountered. The last two did not have the resources this one did. Or the man power. It was an easy break out for both instances. Something told me this would be much different.

This pack did not mind allowing me access to Talon. As if they knew that they could easily contain us both. I took a deep breath trying to steady myself as I stood up. Everything was so weak, and most of my movements had me heaving over the toilet. Damn medicine, were are they trying to kill me?!
