"Littleton Police are looking for a young infant boy that was presumed kidnapped by these three people Saturday night." A brunette news woman said loudly into her microphone. Police lights were flashing behind her. The image of an ambulance was in the far-left corner calling attention from her face.
My picture appeared on it. I had my short dark black hair, pasty white face, thin lips, and resembled a drug addict more than anything. It was my worst picture at home. My picture was between a man my age, well-kept shaved face, styled blond hair, a chiseled chin, and deep brown eyes. Eyes that any girl could get lost in. Trenton my twin brother. Opposite of his picture was a blond barbie smiling happily back at me. Her thick pink lips glistened from the flash and her brilliant smile reached her perfect almond eyes. Alice my childhood best friend turned mortal enemy.

We stayed on the screen for a while as the news woman went on about how dangerous we were. Our possible motives, money, and what we where to the child.
But we were not suspected to be working together and should be reported if seen. "We are going live to the father of the child now." She said importantly before turning to a red-faced male standing beside her. His dark hair was slicked back from the rain.

Allen's eyes where puffy and filled with tears, no doubt fake. But anyone who did not know him would not know that. Allen was wringing his hands and shifting from foot to foot. He couldn't focus on anything in front of him until the mike was put to his lips. He paused acting like he was trying to get control of himself so he could talk.

My blood ran cold as his red puffy eyes focused on the camera and begged. The lies coming from his mouth made my blood want to biol. Murderer!

"Please if anyone sees Allen. Help me get my son back home safely." He paused his lip was quivering violently. "I'm sorry, I just want my son." He covered his face and turned from the camera. "If you have any information on the whereabouts of the child please call child services and the police. Do not try to confront the criminals. Any information leading to an arrest will be rewarded. This is Karen Tiaga with Channel Three news."

I did not realize I was holding my breath until the news program went to a commercial about donating money to shelter dogs. Tears slid down my face, they did not mention Patricia. They did not mention the way her body was mauled to pieces by the shit-faced ass hole on tv. Or how she screamed at him to forgive her and to spare her son.

He had blood all over him...her blood. Allen was busy helping his son dispose if the body. No doubt what the second unmarked grave was for. I barely got him out of the house.
I had to wash him in a river before checking in to the out of the way motel we scored. Patricia's body was hidden from sight, like all traitors to the pack. Unmarked Graves deep in the woods. A body to not be mourned over.

Whatever air was in my lungs was sucked out. No doubt they would make sure that no police would enter the room where she was murdered mercilessly in front of Talon. Or the fact that he was in more danger in that god-forsaken house than he was with me. Armed and dangerous my ass.

"Talon, your mommy is..." I began. The words got all jumbled in my mouth and tears clouded my vision. "Baby." I laid beside the sleeping toddler and tried to quiet my sobs for him. If there was anything good in this world it was bundled up in this child. My chest was so empty that I was afraid to check for my heartbeat. The world is so dark, and I had to find Talon some light or his might fade.

"So little and you will learn how hard loss can be." I whispered as I ran my fingers through his thin dark hair. He turned over and placed a sun kissed arm over my hand.

He had my brother's sharp chin, and deep brown eyes. But his beautiful Latino mother gave him color that I would kill for. Talon, as I'm now calling him, is perfect. He had his mother's nose and thick dark hair. Talon hates early mornings like my brother but loves bubbles and peaches. He is good. Perfect if I'm so bold...

I watched him sleep peacefully until the light danced through the hotel curtains behind me. Everything about him gave me the strength to carry on. He was why I chose to run. Talon will live a full life, even if I must kill every damn werewolf in this world to make sure of it. That is my promise to him, he will survive. I will help him or die trying. Allen will murder him the second he gets his hands on him. Talon is not his. He is a reminder that Patricia belonged to someone else.

The television broadcast where everywhere. Talon, or Allen Jr.'s, face was all over the news, no doubt a result of the pretty penny that was forked over for the airtime. I wrapped Talon in a white blanket and tucked him against my body before heading out of the hotel room. "Time to find us a new home." I told him as I stepped out into the sunlight. It was a matter of time before the hotel receptionist matched my face to the one on Television.

The blanket was long enough to tie around my body so I could travel into the woods and move quickly across states. They would pay thousands to get my face all over a four or five state radius. I was going to have to go deep into the mountains to avoid them. To keep Talon alive. He did not want Talon alive, he wanted to be sure he was dead.

Allen wanted anyone to suffer that helped this sweet boy survive another second. That news broadcast was not for the general public to bring me, Alice, or Trenton in to the human police. It was a call for our heads. All werewolves know this. I committed a crime that called for my head. I don't know what Alice did to get her face up on that screen. But at least Talons father escaped.

Patricia's life was always on the line when she found Trenton to be her mate. I guess Trenton was happy to risk his life. After all it was treason to cheat on an Alpha. Death to the child conceived through deception. Death to the ones who protected the lie. That is pack law, that is Allen's law. I will not uphold that tradition a second longer. Fuck them all.
