THE BEGINNING

LOUISE HART WAS A NOBODY. She was the classic good girl of the small town, who none of the guys seemed to pay attention to because they knew she would never give it up. She was thought as boring, and always kept to herself. And she didn't care to partake in school activities. She would rather sit in a coffee shop and drink tea, while reading Jane Austin. She was nothing like her older sister, Rosie. Louise had her small circle of friends — Sam, Becca, and Gordie. But even those few, she didn't actually consider her friends. They were mere acquaintances. She liked being alone and she liked herself.
But then comes the disaster. West Ham becomes New Ham, and chaos immediately breaks out within the town. Louise is thrown into a world that she can't navigate through solitude. She is forced to socialize, work with others, and trust other people. And it's something she is all too unfamiliar with.
But in a world of isolation, Louise finds harmony within Elle Tomkins.
