Chapter Nine

_*I apologise for this chapter. It gets quite deep. So yeah. It's short. Real short. But I wanna get it out before I go to bed. And I also just wanted some wholesome time in the end. I'm running out of ideas though so uh if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know else I'll probably go off on a completely different path to when I started. 

Estarossa's P.O.V.

It had been nearly three hours since I'd left Zeldris in the cage and I hadn't seen him. I go back to where he was. When I get here, Zeldris has his arms crossed and the angriest look I have ever seen on his face. He sees me and I can feel the anger radiating from him. I slowly walk over.

"Get me out of this cage. Now," he says in a low and terrifying tone. I force myself not to shudder and lean against his cage calmly.

"What do you say, brother?" I say with a smirk. He hisses.

"Please... get me out of here. Now!" he all but yells and bangs his palms on the bars.

"Well since you asked so nicely," I tell him before grabbing the lock and snapping it off. He shoves open the gate and jumps out, immediately falling over. I burst out laughing.

"Help me," he growls.

"Why, what's up?" I ask still laughing.

"I got pins and needles because you left me for four hours!" he cried angrily sitting down and thumping his legs in hope to get the blood flowing. I shrug and grab his arms and start dragging him.

"Hey! Pick me up!" he yells. I sigh and pull him up on his feet. I can tell the pins and needles are hurting him so I pull him up onto my back. He rests his chin on my shoulder.

"So..." I say trying to start a conversation.

"So what?" He asks moodily.

"Jeez Zel, I just wanted to make conversation," I laugh.

"Well I don't want to talk, you left me in the cage! I'm not an animal!" he exclaims.  I grin.

"You act like one," I retort. He pulls my hair and I quickly dump him on the ground. He cries out in shock.

"Hey!" he yells, I begin walking and hear him stand up behind me. "Esta!"

"Are you going to apologise?" I ask turning to face him. He looked up at me and growled before putting his arms up. I pick him back up, this time placing him on my waist. I had to bend to the side considerably, seeing as how Zeldris is only a little smaller than I am. He rests his head on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry," He murmurs. I smirk. "Why are you smiling?" 

"I just find it funny... a couple of months ago you were the one carrying me about. And now look at us," I reply. He sighs.

"Don't you think it's scary?" he asks. I frown. "How much everything has changed?"

"Well... yeah but we're getting older. It's just life, Zel, people change, people grow," I tell him as I walk.

"Will you always love me, Estarossa?" He asks. I bet he looks so innocent right now. Looking up at me with wide eyes. Just like when he was a toddler. Those were the best times. Those were the times when Father wasn't so strict.

"Of course I will. How could I not?" I tell him.

"Thanks," he says. I smile again as we get to the house. I try to open it. For some reason, the doors locked so I knock. I hear it unlocking before Meliodas opens it. he looks at the two of us.

"That's adorable," He states. Zeldris hisses at him and he backs off. 

"Why was the door locked?" I ask. Meliodas just shrugs and walks away. Before I can ask him where he is going Zeldris yawns. I decide to leave it be and take him to bed. After all, he's only young, the demonic power he has can only put a facade on how he really feels. I go upstairs and into his room. His room has always creeped me out. It's extremely dark and the floor is always littered with god knows what. I step lightly so I if I step on anything sharp it won't be as bad. I make it safely to the bed and put him down. He curls up and I tuck him before making my way out. 

"Esta," he calls. 

"Yeah?" I reply.

"Can you stay with me?" He asks. I nod into the darkness and tiptoe back in. I climb into bed. He snuggles into me and falls asleep. I soon follow.
