I wanna play go fish now...

Tony sat in the common room scrolling through emails on his phone while Pepper made breakfast. Clint was slumped over the arm of the couch snickering after picking up a card. He was playing go fish with Bucky and had somehow convinced Natasha as well. Steve sat between Clint and Tony trying to watch the news.

Suddenly, Bucky jumped up and shouted, slamming four cards down in the process.

"Hah! I won!" He exclaimed while Clint pouted and rolled onto the ground.

Bucky extended his hand expectantly towards Clint who, in return, dug a $20 out of his pocket and handed it over without looking up.

"No fair," he muttered while Natasha cackled. "Imma win next round."

"Sure you will, Clint," Nat replied. Clint sent her a glare, but immediately flinched back when she returned it with her own.

"Wait guys, I wanna hear this," Steve interrupted, staring intently at the TV.

Tony looked up and saw everyone else doing the same.

"...hasn't been seen in a roughly a week. Many are starting to wonder where the vigilante, Spiderman, is. Crime rates in the city have been rising..."

"Hey Tony, you know anything about this guy?" Steve asked, looking concerned.

"Well I've heard of him, but I don't know him. Jameson talks about him a lot, thinks he's a menace..." Tony replied unsurely.

"He seems alright to me," Clint joined in. "I've seen him once or twice. Mostly just stops common crimes. Muggings, bank robberies, that kind of thing."

"You can never be too careful though," Natasha added.

"Either way, you still gotta wonder where he went. I mean, he's always around somewhere, but he just... disappeared." Continued Steve.

Tony wasn't so sure. Yeah, maybe the guy makes a habit of patrolling the city everyday, but things happen. Life is always throwing stuff at you.

"I don't know, maybe we're just looking into it a bit too much. He might just be sick or on vacation or something," he said.

Everyone sat thinking for a moment before Pepper called, saying breakfast was ready. As the group made their way to the table, they couldn't help but wonder where the vigilante had gone.

(This is Harley. Also, it's a Friday in the story rn)

Peter stared at his desk, a nauseous feeling growing in his stomach. He kept switching between fiddling with his thumbs and quietly tapping his feet. He had been back in school for a couple days now, but things felt weirder than ever. He was supposed to be placed with a foster family after school today, and he was terrified.

He wouldn't be moving far, and he didn't have to change schools, which was a relief. But he would still be meeting new people (which in itself was hard enough for Peter) that he could very well be spending the next three years with. What if they were mean? What if they didn't like him? What if he made a bad first impression? What if they were just in it for the money they would get from the government each month and planned to starve him and use the cash for themselves?!?

Okay, he had to admit that last one was a bit of a stretch. This isn't Annie, afterall. People who take kids in have to meet certain requirements, and he guessed they probably wouldn't be willing to do something like that if they weren't at least nice people. But that didn't stop him from being distracted and distraught the whole day.

"Come on, man, it won't be that bad. Besides, didn't you say there were only two of them?" Ned said, slinging his arm around Peter's shoulder.

"Yeah, and even if something happens, you can text us and we'll figure something out." MJ agreed, falling into step next to them.

"I guess you guys are right..." Peter admitted with a slight chuckle.

"Besides, you are the Spiderman!" Ned exclaimed excitedly, though in a hushed tone.

"Yeah, that's what I'm most worried about. How can I be Spiderman now?" It wasn't too hard before May found out; she was at the hospital a lot so he had plenty of time to sneak in and out everyday. And after she found out, she did set some rules, but he could still make it work just fine.

But it wouldn't be like that with these people. They would be keeping an extra close eye on him, especially after losing a parental figure. His new guardian would know (almost) everything about him. They would be watching for signs of depression and aggression. (A/n It must be true because it rhymes)

"I can't just tell them I'm Spiderman. I already feel guilty enough about not going on patrol this week, but I might have to keep a low profile for a while. If I make them suspicious, things will only be harder." Peter said after a little bit.

"I would have to agree. I think that's probably the best course of action right now," MJ said coolly.

"I just hope the city can wait that long..."

"Well, keep in mind, you can always ask to come to one of our houses and then just go out as Spiderman. We can cover for you," Ned reminded him and MJ nodded.

"What would I do without you guys?" Peter asked with a sigh.

"Probably die or something."

The three walked out of the building and went their separate ways with a quick goodbye. Well, Peter was going with Ned, but MJ went her separate way. Ned and his mom had already helped Peter move all of his stuff out of his old apartment. He had his bags  packed and ready.

Peter was told someone from the CPS would pick him up from Ned's house after school and take him to his new foster home. They would be arriving around 4:30.

The two made their way into the house and Peter went to grab his bags. Then they sat in the living room to do homework until the worker arrived. Unfortunately, Peter didn't get much done as he kept nervously checking his phone every 2 minutes for the time.

At 4:20 (mehehehehe I'm very mature.), Peter gave up and put his stuff away.

"Hey, Ned?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for everything. It means the world to me that you let me stay here and are there for me." Peter said, choking up a little. To his surprise, Ned stood up and started crying first.

"Don't sweat it man, it's the bro code. I'm always there for you, and I know you're there for me. I'll always be your g-guy in a ch-chair," Ned was straight up bawling now, and Peter couldn't help but laugh as tears built up in his eyes.

Ned walked forward and gave him a hug before running to grab five boxes of tissues and dropping all of them. This just made them laugh-cry even harder.

After they had calmed down a little, they heard the doorbell ring. They looked at each other before running around the room like chickens with their heads cut off trying to get everything together. Finally, they made their way to the door and opened it.

After a short hello to the worker and goodbye to Ned, Peter was off. The worker explained that he would be staying with a woman and her daughter who was two years older than him, specifying that they were really nice. He was also informed that if any problems should arise, he should contact them and they would make other arrangements.

And with that, they had arrived.

A/n Sup my dudes. Sorry if this chapter was a bit boring, I just don't want to skip over anything. I know that there wasn't any texting, but I don't think I want the whole story to be in text. I will probably have multiple chapters without it. Probably. See ya later ladies, men, and non-binary friends!

P.S. I just finished watching Steven Universe and now I'm sad. But also happy? Idk it was a really good show.
