"Ow..." I answer to Barry's statement.
King Shark, the half human half shark, 14 feet tall meta human who is probably after the reverse flash one of the most difficult meta humans to beat.
"Do we know where he is now? How could he have escaped from ARGUS?" I ask confused, not particulary to anyone.
"We don't know yet to both." Caitlin answers. And exactly at that moment the alarm starts to go off, I look at the screen and see that there's an attack ongoing in Central City. Before we can say anything Barry runs of.
About half an hour later Barry comes rushing back into the main space, he's completely out of breath and it's very clear he had a hard fight with King Shark.
"He... he was send by Zoom." Barry says panting, leaning against a wall.
"What? How is that possible? How could Zoom have freed King Shark from ARGUS?" I ask him confused.
"I don't know, but he send him to kill me." I look around the main space and see that everyone has the same expression as I have, disbelieve. Except for Jay. He looks rather emotionless. I've always felt that there's something weird with him but I just can't figure out what. Plus since he and Caitlin are dating I'm not going to meddle in that.
I look at Hartley, he looks puzzled. I walk towards him and put my arm around his side. He gives me a small smile.
"So, what are we going to do now?" I ask.
"I am going to find King Shark, and lock him back up in ARGUS." Barry says determined...
--
A couple of days have passed. Barry fought King Shark and even though it was very close Barry won and King Shark is locked up back in ARGUS. At Star Labs we've been doing more and more to find out who Zoom is, it's mainly our only focus right now because he's getting stronger and faster and if we don't stop him soon we might never be able to defeat him. Hartley and I have been so busy at Star Labs that we haven't had time for ourselves in a long time, so we decided that no matter what happens here at Star Labs, we're having a date night. Hartley's taking me out for dinner and then he says he's got a surprise waiting at home. I wonder what it is.
"Are you ready to go?" I get snapped out of my thoughts, Hartley is standing in our bathroom door opening. I still have my eyeliner pencil in my hand but quickly put it back in my make-up bag. I turn around to face Hartley. I'm wearing a simple black cocktail dress that hugs my figure perfectly and has a deep opening on my back. I thought I'd wear a natural make-up look but go with bold, red lips and by the look on Hartley's face that was a good choice. He's wearing a black shirt buttoned up all the way and dark grey pants. He's wearing his fancy glasses which he almost never wears. He doesn't really like them that much but I think they look amazing on him. A smile appears on his face.
"Wow Riley, you look amazing." He says in awe. I walk up towards him and unbutton the highest button on his shirt.
"You look way sexier like this." I whisper closely into his ear and I see he's getting goosebumps from it. I laugh a little.
"Come on, let's go." He says. He grabs my hand and leads me to the door.
"Thank you." I tell the waiter when he walks away with our orders. We're sitting at a candle lit table in the corner of the restaurant. It's the most romantic spot.
"I can't believe they we're out of chicken breasts! I mean it's a restaurant for god's sake! What restaurant doesn't have chicken?!"Hartley yells. I put my hands under my chin and lean on the table looking at him closely taking a deep breath.
"What?" He asks a little annoyed.
"You're so cute when you get whiny about the smallest things." I let out a small giggle.
"I'm not whiny!" He exclaims but before I can answer the waiter is back with our food. We eat it while Hartley gives a speech why it isn't normal for restaurants to not have chicken and that he's not whiny. The only thing I can do is look at him so in love. I love it when he gets so passionate about something so small. I wish this moment could last forever, but then the waiter shoves the check under our noses.
"He better doesn't expect a tip from me." He says harshly when the waiter walks away again. I put my hand on the side of his face which seems to calm him down a little after his ramble. He sighs deeply.
"Hartley, calm down. Okay?" I ask as calmly as I possibly can and he nods along. I give him a small kiss and it seems like he has forgotten all about his chicken anger and walks away towards the waiter with the check.
"Are you ready for your surprise?" He asks mischievously. Knowing Hartley I don't know if I should be anxious or excited. I smile at him and he takes my hand again and walks me to the car.
Hartley is holding his hands over my eyes so I don't see anything. The familiar sent of the hallway leading to our apartment gives away where we are. After a couple more steps we come to a halt and I hear Hartley turning the key and open the door of our apartment. We step inside and the door closes. I hear slow music playing in the background.
"Are you ready?" He whispers in my ear, I can hear how excited he is. I nod quickly. When Hartley removes his hands and I open my eyes I gasp. The entire living room is filled with candles, the furniture in the middle has been moved and more candles make a big circle in that spot. I look at Hartley. He seems so happy with himself knowing his surprise was a success.
"Oh my god, Hartley..." Is the only thing I can think of saying. Hartley was never really the romantic one and I'm quite sure he had some help with organizing this but that doesn't matter. Just the fact that he took the time to do this, makes me love him even more and I didn't think that was possible. When I listen closely I hear our song comes on. Can you feel the love tonight by Elton John. Without saying anything Hartley takes my hand for the third time tonight and leads me to the circle, he places his hands on my waist and I put one of mine around his neck and the other one on his torso and we start to dance. Right here, this moment. This is it. Everyone has one of those moments they never want to forget, they never want it to end, a moment that reminds them of better times, a moment that they think of whenever they feel lost, just a favorite moment in the world, and this is mine. I place my head on his shoulder, he pulls me closer to him and shiver go down my spine. I love Hartley, so much. There are not enough words in this universe to describe how I feel when I'm with him. I honestly wouldn't know what I would do without him. Suddenly I'm snapped out of my thoughts when the Star Labs alarm goes of from both of our phones. We look up at each other and see that our phones show an emergency at Star Labs. Both our eyes ask if we can't just ignore this and go back to the incredible moment but then Barry calls me. I immediately pick up.
"You have to come to Star Labs right now! We know who Zoom is!"
