Cho and Aito worked together with Mishino, lending their medical expertise to help in the rescue of Kaneki. Touka had revealed that he would be wearing the necklace on so with metal detectors they could find Kaneki’s body.

All ghoul personnel were given metal detectors and were to walk over the sleeping Dragons mass of elongated flesh whilst the human Investigators were ordered to protect the people and take care of the spawned monsters that shot out of the Dragon.

(Y/N) wasn’t allowed to participate on account of her being pregnant, unlike Touka who was just a month in and could still have a chance at fighting, (Y/N) was three months going to four and her baby appeared to already be five months old. So she remained in the control room with Marude and Mishino where it appeared to be safe.

The situation was made worse when the Dragon became active and spouted out creatures that moved with speed and agility, attacking all the CCG agents and overpowering them 100 to 1.

(Y/N) was restless remaining in the control room, watching her friends outside fighting. She desperately wanted to join in, it went against her better judgment for her to remain in a room watching and barking orders. One glance down and she was reminded why. She had to protect her baby. Ayato was out there fighting to rescue Kaneki and destroy the monster so they could all be together as a family when this was all over.

Touka was the one who found Kaneki buried under all that mass. They brought him into the building and he remained unconscious for a while, Touka remaining by his side and refusing to leave for even a second.

Aito and Cho were busy at the floor level where they were attempting to save humans that appeared to be transforming into ghouls.

It seemed only a few hours passed before Kaneki woke up and everyone flooded to his room. Akira and Amon, with Hinami, Renji,  Tsukiyama, Saiko, Nishiki, Benjiro and (Y/N) and Ayato all stood around his bed.  His grey eyes under his white hair showed confusion as he looked around the room.

“Sorry, but tell me, why are you and Saikko here with Touka and the others?” Kaneki asked Mishino.

“We teamed up, to fight the real threat.” Mishino answered.

“It isn’t just two of them,” Nishiki added, “as of this moment, Goat and the Dove are working together to defend Tokyo.”

“The CCG is working with ghouls? How’d that happen? How long have I been out?” Kaneki asked, glancing to (Y/N) because her baby bump looked bigger than it did last time.

(Y/N) smiled sheepishly, her head tilted aside as she placed a hand on her stomach. “Not long, just that this little lady is growing fast. It’s been only a few days since you’ve been out.”

“Nagachicka brought them together in order to stop that monster and to save your life, it was all him.” Amon said.

“Hold on, are you saying that Hide-kun is alive?” Kaneki said with his voice shaking as he smiled.
