Brian's POV

"I'm so happy that we get to be neighbours again! I really missed you guys when we left oak bay and came here." Mrs Reed says, a huge grin on her face. We are sitting in the living room. Family photos hanging on the blue walls. A young Emma smiling back at me. I'm suprised to see a photo of me and Emma hanging on the wall. We are both in tank tops and shorts, the photo was probably taken when we were 7 or something.

"We missed you too especially mom. She and dad will be here tomorrow, they still have some stuff to take care of back home. It's just me and Dylan in the house for today." I tell her. Truth is they became too lazy and forgot to pack their stuff, so we left them there...not a very mature thing to do I know.

Before Mrs Reed could say something the door opens revealing the only person that I was really trying to avoid: Emma Reed. Now why am I avoiding her you ask? Well because I wanted to suprise her but nevermind, she's here now. She removes her sneakers and her jet black hair falls over her face acting as a curtain. She still hasn't noticed my presence.

She looks more beautiful than when I saw her last time, before they left. Her nose sharp and pointed and her facial features look more defined. In conclusion, she looks fucking hot.

Her breath hitches in her throat when her eyes fall on me. This is gonna be fun.

Mrs Reed tells her something in a cheerful voice but all I could focus on is her reaction.

"Oh hey Bobby! Your name is Bobby right? Well it doesn't matter anyways may I ask why are you here? She asks in a sarcastic tone. I missed her sarcasm. Now it's time to play.

"Oh you don't know, do you erica?. We're neighbours now." I say, intentionally saying the wrong name just like she did. Two can play at this game. I can't help but smirk as reality seeps into her. I expected this reaction.

"Wh-what?" She stutters.

"Yeah! I'm so happy that the Cortez family gets to be our neighbours again!" Mrs Reed says and claps her hands in excitement.

"Umm...I'm gonna go to my room now. It was nice seeing you here Bobby..err I mean Brian." She says and runs upstairs. Her room must be upstairs. I did expect her to be shocked but not this shocked. Is she okay?

"Please don't mind her. She's just shocked to see you after so many years, she missed you guys a lot especially you." she says.

Feeling upset with her reaction I walk towards the door to leave."It was really nice meeting you Mrs Reed, I'll be leaving now. You're invited to have dinner with us tomorrow, I hope you'll join us." I say to Mrs Reed while standing at her porch.

"We'll be there, thank you."she says, hugging me. Well atleast somebody missed me.

Emma's POV

I enter my room and plop down on my bed. The Cortez family is rich enough to buy any house to their liking so why did they come here? I'm not saying that the houses here are small or anything, they're pretty big but compared to their house in oak bay this one is actually small.

Him and I used to be friends, best friends to be exact but then we moved to Vancouver. I tried calling him but nobody ever answered. He was always the extrovert of the two of us. I used to like him more than a friend but I guess I don't anymore.

Wait a minute here...if they are our neighbours now then that means they have a clear view of my room, the distance between our houses is huge but it's still not enough to stop them from coming here, not that they'd come here without my permission or anything but what if the room opposite to mine is Brian's? He'd see everything! I quickly get up to close the window and draw the curtains but then I see Dylan pacing back and forth in the room. Oh so it's Dylan's room. I heave a sigh of relief and decide to leave the window open. Dylan isn't a threat to me, he's actually really kind to me.
